Sharing a message from U.S. Travel Association:

The White House has named travel and hospitality as an industry group that will work on forging a path to economic recovery. Earlier today, Roger Dow joined other travel industry executives on a conference call with President Trump to discuss the rebuilding of America.

The Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups are comprised of major U.S. industries including hospitality, heath care, financial services, food and beverage, retail, tech, manufacturing, and others.

It's clear the president recognizes the critical role of the travel and hospitality sector in the recovery of our economy and workforce. As one of the first and hardest-hit industries by the pandemic's effects, this appointment will only strengthen engagement with our partners in the government as we work together to rebuild America.

Overwhelmingly, the collective task force agreed the first step toward recovery is greater access to testing to ensure the health and safety of Americans. We will work with our task force colleagues to advance industry-specific recommendations in the weeks ahead.

Great American Economic Revival Industry Group – Hospitality Appointees

• Carnival Cruise Line – Micky Arison

• Hilton – Christopher Nassetta

• Hyatt – Mark Hoplamazian

• Intercontinental Hotels Group – Elie Maalouf

• Las Vegas Sands Corp. – Sheldon Adelson

• Marriott International– Arne Sorenson

• Norwegian Cruise Lines – Frank Del Rio

• Royal Caribbean – Richard Fain

• Treasure Island Hotels – Phil Ruffin

• U.S. Travel Association – Roger Dow

• Wyndham Hotels & Resorts – Geoff Ballotti

We will continue to keep you informed of the group's progress, as well as our work with Congress and the administration to secure the relief our industry needs so that we are in the best position to help America recover.

Best,

Gov. hit the brakes on Strip parade, but its spirit remains strong: Travel Weekly

Although I believe we made the right decision for the health of many, this article really reflects how so many people stepped up and came together. It’s all about the people .
The precession may not have physically taken place but the message has certainly been sent.

The organizer of Light Up Las Vegas said the tourism community's efforts to put the car parade together kept everyone connected and inspired during the early stages of the lockdown.

HUNDREDS OF TOURISM, HOSPITALITY WORKERS TO UNITE THIS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, DRIVE THE LENGTH OF LAS VEGAS BOULEVARD

Event Will Observe Social-Distancing Guidance, Not Intended for Spectators

Participants to Stay in Their Cars at All Times

“Light Up Las Vegas” to Involve Hundreds of Cars Driving the Length of Las Vegas Strip Led by Balanceville Art Car, Mobile Billboard Emblazoned with Messages Supporting Tourism

Event will begin at 5 p.m. at Entertainment Benefits Group (EBG) office parking lot at McCarran Sunset Business Park, 1421 E. Sunset Road,
Las Vegas, NV 89119

WHAT:
This Wednesday, “Light Up Las Vegas” will unite hundreds of tourism and hospitality workers as they drive single file along the Las Vegas Strip to show the world Las Vegas’ tourism industry will recover.

Organizers will begin the drive from the parking lot of Entertainment Benefits Group (EBG) at McCarran Sunset Business Park, two miles east of the intersection of Sunset Road and Las Vegas Boulevard; a mobile billboard emblazoned with tourism-promotional messages will lead the way.

From there, they will continue onto Las Vegas Boulevard heading north, past the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign on their way to Fremont Street downtown.

The “Light Up Las Vegas” Las Vegas Strip drive will take place in compliance with recommended social distancing guidelines; participants will not exit their vehicles at any point.

NOTE: To maintain an orderly procession, drivers are asked to drive in single file, occupying one lane of Las Vegas Boulevard only and are reminded to drive safely and observe all traffic signals. Substantial construction activities are underway on portions of Las Vegas Boulevard, which means the roadway may be down to one lane in certain areas anyway at Spring Mountain Road/Sands Avenue. Participants may wish to exit the drive at that intersection to avoid delays.
