Players going low in the morning wave of the 2nd round of the @kornferrytour @mgmresortschamp Our course record looked to be in jeopardy for a bit but still remains intact. @vanderlaanjohn was 1 of 2 golfers to shoot a -7 round.
The last of the morning wave just teed off at the @kornferrytour @mgmresortschamp including @unlvrebelgolf alum @harryhallgolf who’s T-9 after the first round. Brady Sharp (The Summit Club) and Brad Church (Wynn Golf Club) took top honors at yesterday's Chapter Player & Senior Player Series events @ Rio Secco Golf Club.
In the Open Division, Sharp shot a 3-under 69, good for a one stroke victory over Erik Matthewson (Shadow Creek Golf Club). Ryan Malby (Summit Club) finished in solo third, two shots back of the leader.
On the Senior side, Church's 2-under 70 was good for a 3 shot victory over Tom Fischer (Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort) and Tom Sweeney (SouthShore Country Club).
There were six skins on the day: Matthewson (Birdie on #3), Jim Saunders (Robogolfpro Las Vegas, Birdie on #5), Sharp (Eagle on #9), Andrew Bogan (Las Vegas Country Club, Birdie on #10), Sweeney (Birdie on #15) and Church (Birdie on #16).

Next up is the Summit Fire & Security Pro-Am this coming Monday, 2/7/22 @ Red Rock Country Club. The entry fee for the event is $600/team. Registration opens @ 8:30 AM, followed by a Shotgun start @ 10 AM. A post-event reception will be held after conclusion of the golf portion of the day. To register for the event, please click on the following link at the Chapter's website:https://swpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/swpga23/event/swpga2322/index.htm. Registration closes this coming Thursday, 2/3/22, and we encourage a strong turnout, so please register your team today.

“This Monday, during the Southern Ohio PGA Pro-Am, being held at the Paiute Resort in Las Vegas, something very rare happened in the first round of play. On the 4th hole of the Sun Mountain course, Kenwood member Michael Karram made a hole-in-one, and just a couple hours later, Kenwood member Rich Cross made a hole-in-one on the 17th hole of the Sun Mountain course. The Southern Ohio PGA commented that this was ‘u the first time in the history of the event’ that two hole-in-one’s were made on the same day in this event, and to have them made by Kenwood members is truly unique and special. This was Michael Karram’s third hole-in-one and the first for Rich Cross.
I’m proud to be a part of this event, and best of luck to all the six teams over the next few days. Congratulations to you both!
