This day gave me a renewed love of weddings. From the moment I got an inquiry for a “celestial vintage” look, I knew we were on the same page. Immediately I thought artsy, whimsical shapes, bold peacock-inspired jewel tones, lots of lush draping velvet fabrics and bows and a little cosmic sparkle. The bride used tarot cards as table numbers. And gold stars were hung from the rafters. 💫

The morning of the wedding, we set up a Build-Your-Own Bouquet Bar in the bridal suite, which I do recommend! It was a delightfully fun, creative, and memorable way to include your bridal party and allow them to create something that feels unique to each individual. We love that. 💐

A few arrangements from the past few months. This account keeps me on my toes. Nobody asked me to, but I check their website, follow their Instagram, and even signed up for emails to make sure I’m aware of the colors and styles being showcased each week. Though, it’s not like paying attention to the most artistic and beautiful shoes on the market is a difficult task. Quote the opposite. 😏👠👠

Working with flowers can be a meditative process, and using dried product allows you to slow down the process even more. Which is perfect for the middle of summer, during a pandemic. I’ve got all the time in the world... as long as I’m indoors. 🌵🔥⏰

This client requested black, gold, leopard print and denim. And because I had extra time to work on it, I added the custom green bunny tails to balance out the color palette and to represent something super subtle. Any guesses? 🌿⚡️🥦

Maybe a lavender veil. Or how about funky, baby blue centerpieces with vibrant, chartreuse napkins? I sure do miss planning weddings. Can you tell? 🎾🌀🔮🙃

🏓🎾🍯🦄🌀These colors made me want to do a wedding in a wildly unexpected palette. Turquoise, orange, gold and red? Why not! I don’t understand why all weddings are blush and white, ya know? (Ok, yes I do. Pinterest.) But how about a chartreuse, lavender and baby blue wedding? Maybe bold yellow and gold? What about a straight up disco wedding?! I’m predicting 2021 will be the year of colorful and fun weddings. 🏓🎾🍯🦄🌀

I truly miss weddings and to be honest, it makes me feel nervous and a bit vulnerable not having all the answers. Yes, we can absolutely keep rescheduling your wedding, not a problem, but is there a way we can still celebrate love today? “Elope now, party later” seems to be the idea people are pushing, but how do we turn these elopements into something maybe a little more interactive? I have some wildly creative friends and know some of the most talented vendors... Anybody interested in tossing around some ideas? I was never one to believe weddings had to look a certain way, so why not come up with something completely different? If you are newly engaged or a wedding vendor looking to do something different but not sure where to turn, let’s chat! 🌸⚡️🧡
