We're hollering from the mountaintops! With just three weeks of planning to make this event happen, we pulled it off! We had a goal of not only raising funds, but to also uplift the spirits of our community. I think we accomplished both! We are proud to announce, after expenses, we raised $๐๐,๐๐๐! These funds are going directly to three nonprofits that are boots on the ground, directly supporting those in need here in Ashe who were impacted by Hurricane Helene.
A HUGE shout-out to my left-hand (I'm left-handed), late-night brainstorming volunteer assistant, Micaela Bryn, for all those sleepless nights and early mornings spent tossing ideas around and getting things DONE! And a massive thank you to Micha Tucker for her endless hours running errands and just generally being a rock throughout this whole thing. Couldnโt have pulled it off without these two amazing ladies!
Old Barn Winery for the beautiful venue. The owners Greg & Robin Sexton were so kind to let us use their property as if it was our own. Carlee (the manager) and staff were also a pleasure to work with and handled the event like pros!
The hilarious MCs, "Those Other 3 Guys" โ Andy Guion, Sherman, and Chris Miller โ who kept us laughing and the show rolling without missing a beat!
The board and many volunteers of Lansingโs Bridge To Recovery! Leeth Davis & Emily Davis, Lora Gene Young, Jt Fink, Mack Powers, Dakota Lucas, David Dugan, Candy Thomas & others for all of their hard work and support. Chris & Stacey Howell of F.A.N. Club and volunteers for helping with parking & setup. Catherine & Stan Massey of Musicians Mission of Mercy for volunteering. Anna Marie Wheeler and her volunteers with the ticket booth.
Drew Villiers & Stu Geisbert for building the side stage and helping put banners around town. 2 Gals Graphics for printing & designing banners and being our go to print shop!
Grillmasters Sear-Rex (Rex Goss) & Jaredgansett (Jared Duncan) for smokin' 200 pounds of pork and cooking gallons of beans for Butt's & Beans. Colleen Feeney for baking delicious cookies for us to sell. Jared & Wendy at Craft Bistro for allowing us to sell out of the food truck. And to all the other volunteers who helped run the food sales. We sold over 300 bbq sandwiches & Bert's beans and over 80 cookies! ALL proceeds went towards this cause.
All the food trucks and vendors who joined us!
All those involved in the silent auction - Stephen Shoemaker for signing wine bottles and prints. Arville Scott for donating an original Stephen Shoemaker piece along with a framed print. Justin Faircloth for the recording session at Union Recording Co. David Barlow for the Virginia Creeper railroad track. John Travers for the Appalachian folk art.
Misty & Ryan of Pixels On Paper Photography for professional photography! Martin Seelig of Catchlight Gallery for also taking photos. Kevin DeShields for filming the event.
Ernie Carpenter's family for posting banners on the Creeper Train that was driven in the parade in his honor and also for bringing the train to the event to give out rides.
