It's Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that Roxie has been practicing yoga since she was 18 years old and Kristen since she was 42? That's the great thing about yoga, no matter your age, flexibility, or athletic ability yoga is for EVERYBODY! There's so many variations and styles that you can Choose Your Own Adventure.

👫Kid Yoga helps children learn self-regulating skills as well as become aware of their body.
🪑Chair Yoga helps less mobile people still enjoy the benefits but with the support of a chair.
🦋Vinyasa helps with learning to go with the flow and move more gracefully connecting breath and movements.
🐢Yin helps with slowing down and finding stillness while deeply stretching your muscles.

If you're not sure which one to choose, join us at one of our events to try an all levels, friendly yoga practice where not only will you get to move your body, but you'll enjoy the outdoors and learn about our local family farms!

It's Wellness Wednesday! It's also the 🌞Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and 🧘‍♀️International Yoga Day! So much to appreciate today!
Our pose this week is Peaceful Warrior also known as Reverse Warrior and Shanti virabhadrasana.
In Vinyasa classes, this pose is a transitional pose between warrior two and downward dog. It is also a pose that reminds us to stay strong in our spirit and live peacefully.

It's Mindful Monday! We hope everyone had a great weekend! Do you ever feel like things are getting out of balance or not going the way you had hoped? Life can be complex and when things get out of balance it's helpful to remember that we can always make a fresh start! You have the courage to begin again is the theme this week. If you normally dread Mondays, try to think of them as a fresh start, and hit the reset button! Here are a few ideas to help you before moving onto the new week:

🙌Reflect on what went well for you over the past few days/weeks.
✍️Set a small goal for something you'd like to accomplish in the days/week ahead.

Its Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that yoga breathing exercises can help enhance your child's ability to concentrate?

Kristen does a great job of leading kids yoga, I especially love her breath where you inhale and smell a flower, exhale and blow out a birthday candle! Kids love it, and honestly so do I 👃🌺, 🗣🕯

Our pose of the week is boat pose. Want to make this pose easier? Have a goat for foot support!

Boat pose is great for strengthening your core. It can easily be scaled back by placing one foot on the ground and alternating legs, you can use your arms for support. This pose can also be advanced by extending the arms over head and lowering arms and legs closer to the ground.

Whether or not you believe this, we do know the power of slowing down our breath! So my friends, take some time to slow down and smell the roses 👃🫁🌺

It's Fun Fact Friday! Did you know that an attitude of gratitude is the highest form of yoga? Regularly practicing gratitude and yoga can even rewire your brain! Both a gratitude practice and yoga practice help to create new neural pathways for the feel good hormone, Dopamine. The more positive emotions you feel, the more positive you become overall.

Even more reason to do a few of your favorite yoga poses each day and with each breath, name what you are grateful for!

Tree pose reminds us to be grateful for:
✅ our roots
✅the things that challenge our balance
✅our ability to continue growing
✅our breath

We don't always have time for a long yoga session. Even setting aside a couple of minutes to do a few poses is enough to help you get centered and release some tension. This is one of my favorite yoga poses when I only have a minute.
