Did you know that Lake City is home to a unique research facility? The MN DNR's Center for Aquatic Mollusk Programs (CAMP) is home to the state's only facility that monitors and restores endangered mussels in area waters. Let's take a field trip to learn what they do! - Monday, June 22nd from 2-3 PM

To register for this free field trip, contact club member Bill Otto (320-248-2194). Space is limited. Registration open to current LCSC members and their families. Tour will be appropriate for adults and older kids.

THIS volunteer group is a MAJOR reason why our location is so AMAZING! This is our cleaning crew. After EVERY event, they clean the building from top to bottom so it’s ready for the next event, sometimes taking place less than 24 hours later.

They are an absolute FORCE, tackling two floors of work in less than an hour to take down tables and chairs, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpeted areas, clean all surfaces and windows, deep clean bathrooms, restock supplies, fill the beverage cooler, take out the trash, and do the million tiny (and sometimes invisible) things that make our space beautiful for each and every event!

They’ve cleaned the club nearly 40 times this year already, and we’re just jumping into the busy season!

The LC Sportsman’s Club recently presented $3000 of support the Lake City Fire Department to help purchase new dry suits for water rescues. At the recent LCSC meeting, the firefighters provided a demonstration of putting on the suits and explained their purpose and use in the Lake City area. Firearm safety classes, sponsored by the club, wrapped up in early May. 21 participants earned their certificate and celebrated with a banquet at the club. Thank you to the volunteer instructors for their work!

Thank you too, Corey and Cheri Meincke, Tom and Sue Halder, and John and Lorraine Brinkman for helping at the firearm safety banquet. All students received gifts from the Lake City Sportsmans club for passing the class. The grand prize, winners were William Sexton, Maci Blue and Shanae Owens.
