Thank you to KATC-TV 3: Acadiana's Newschannel for taking the time to highlight our upcoming Arts & Crafts Day events and the heart behind them.

This summer, children in our community will have the opportunity to create handmade crafts that will be donated to patients and families served by Southern Grace Hospice. Our hope is that these small acts of kindness bring comfort, encouragement, and a reminder that someone is thinking of them.

At Bright Mournings, we believe that compassion can be taught at any age, and we’re excited to help children experience the joy of giving back while supporting an incredible organization like Southern Grace Hospice.

Thank you to KATC for helping us spread the word, and thank you to everyone who has supported this project. We can’t wait to see the impact these young hearts will make this summer. 💛

One of the most meaningful parts of a celebration of life is the obituary — because it’s more than dates and details.

It’s someone’s story. 💜
Instead of simply listing accomplishments, try writing it the way you’d tell someone about them over coffee:
• What made them laugh?
• What phrase did they always say?
• What little things will people miss most?
• What did they love deeply?
• How did they make people feel?

The obituaries that stay with us are the ones that sound like the person is still in the room.

A beautiful obituary doesn’t have to be perfect or formal — it just has to feel real.

Bright Mournings, A Celebration of Life is hosting a special Arts & Class Day for children ages 5–10 where we’ll create handmade cards, crafts, and thoughtful creations for patients at Southern Grace Hospice.

This is such a sweet opportunity to teach kindness, compassion, creativity, and community service in a fun and uplifting environment. 💕

A huge shoutout to Flowers By Rodney for creating such a beautiful mausoleum floral piece we used at the celebration of life for one of our recent Celebration of Life services a couple of weeks ago. 💜
