If I'm shooting your wedding, an engagement or bridal session is where the fun starts. I offer a free one-hour engagement or bridal session for couples that book me for their wedding. I like these, because it gives us all a chance to get to know one another without the rush and stresses circling a wedding day. I keep in touch with my couples months before the wedding, ironing out details and suggested timelines. My goal is to ask you as little questions as possible on the wedding day. Ideally, I like to hover on the outside and capture the moments as they happen.

Featured are Anna Holloway and Blake Woody who wanted to do a little something extra for their engagements and feature a Star Wars theme. I scoured Knoxville to find a suitable location that could deliver a Star Wars look. I found one with a 70's industrial vibe and much to my surprise, the Knoxville Farmer's Market set up in the middle of the location on the day of the shoot. Nevertheless, there were more than enough areas, away from the crowd, that I was able to use.

Do you need new photos for your business website or social media? Let's chat! I can offer ideas and consult with you on how to feature your products and services, as well as give advice on how to prepare your space for a photo shoot. This was from a relatively quick session I did for Knoxville Taekwondo America which now offers a super cool class called Ninja Trix HQ. The owner and instructor Stephen Strouss is one of the nicest guys and offers kids and adults a fun space to learn taekwondo.

In April 2021, I took a trip back home to Louisiana for the wedding of Paige Durocher and Taylor Durocher. It was likely the hottest day in April, but the small chance of rain never materialized. The ceremony was at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Catholic Church Thibodaux followed by a reception at Foundry On The Bayou. Drinks flowed and there was never a dull moment on the dancefloor thanks to Party at Joe's. It was great to snag a piece of wedding cake again, thanks to Ninette's Cake Shop. So after hiding out in my cave for 2020 and some of 2021, it's time to re-emerge and hit the ground running. Lately I've turned off the news and avoided social media. Posts will resume, with new families, new business clients, and future brides scheduled for the remainder of the year. It feels good to get back, recharge the camera batteries, and venture out into the world again. Up first, is my niece, who I photographed when my sis Mindy Martin Kuhn and BIL James Kuhn paid a visit to Knoxville.

I hope everyone is doing well and keeping a safe distance out there. With weddings in limbo and family sessions the least on everyone's mind, I'm feeling a little rusty and a little cooped up. Thanks to a friend, Aimee Rayfield, I was introduced to the idea of doing a front porch session with some of the families in my neighborhood.

We already started a neighborhood text thread to say hello and offer an extra-extended, thoroughly-washed, helping hand if needed. I offered to shoot a short session with anyone's family. With the help of a 70-200mm lens, I could keep more than the recommended 6' of distance and shoot the session right in their front yard.

It was great to say hello, catch up a bit, and see smiling faces for a few minutes. I don't necessarily think we'll get back to 'normal' but I'm sure we'll get to something better. Everyone be smart, be safe, and hang in there. Even though we may have to keep our distance, we're all in it together.
