Northern Illinois' best inspired mobile shop WHAT IS RE:CORE? WHO IS THE MAKER?

RE:core is a combination of recycle/reclaim/repurpose and fairycore. It's a collection of handcrafted items made with reclaimed, upcycled, and repurposed components inspired from fairy tales, mythology, nature, and fantasy. Most items found on RE:core are made by myself - Sarah (shop owner). Some items are made by my elementary aged daughter - Gracie - or with the help of my creative family (here'

s looking at you, Mom). WHY DID YOU START RE:CORE? My daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 3. This was during peak COVID, and it was... a difficult diagnosis. We thought she would start to grow out of it by the time she started school, but, instead of getting better, her Epilepsy began to evolve. The chances of her "growing out of it" seems less and less likely. Although I know Epilepsy is not an "end all" condition, it holds a lot of uncertainty for the future. Hence, why I started RE:core. It's a place where I can do the things I love (make, create), teacher her skills (money management, inventory control, crafting, communication, responsibility, ect), and set her up for success in the future - what ever that may look like. NOTE

We find it fitting that our first event post is with Marie Carter of Marie Carter's Creation.

These bracelets are near and dear to my heart. My daughter Grace was diagnosed with Epilepsy when she was 3.5 year old.

She helps me make these bracelets featuring a lavender Epilepsy Awareness Ribbon and a real US penny. They come in gold or silver, with your choice of 2 bead colors (20 different colors to choose from!).

Why the penny? It's a lucky penny, a penny for your thoughts, a penny to remember that epilepsy is a seizure disorder that affects the brain.
