Last week at The Bath Greenhouse, we had the pleasure of hosting two separate events for two mums and their daughters for a wedding bouquet creation workshop. They joined us to learn how to use their own garden-grown flowers for their upcoming weddings, a trend that has become increasingly popular.
While flowering your own wedding is a wonderful idea, we believe that mastering the hand-tied bouquet can greatly benefit from some tuition. Achieving that airy, natural, garden-gathered look involves more than just spiraling the stems; it also requires careful selection of shapes and colours.
For this event, we utilized a variety of stems including nigella, fennel, zinnias, asters, grasses, gypsophila, thalictrum, delphiniums, solidago, and dogwood. We also discussed the importance of incorporating fragrant elements like roses, stocks, or freesias.
The workshop concluded with a lesson on gift wrapping bouquets. It's quite easy to get hooked on growing your own cut flowers, so I'm sure these ladies will enjoy gifting their beautiful creations to family and friends.
