This is Jenn, Brandon's wife. Y'all take it easy on him as far as understanding why the track isn't open this Friday or his decision to hold off til the fall.
He's the main breadwinner in this family and due to the tariffs his work has been a little crazy lately because they are a Canadian company. Some days he doesn't have a lot of work then they will slam him at the end of the week which is when we need to be prepping the track. Also I've had some health issues and been put on new meds. Being in the heat on these meds just don't mix so he hasn't had much help recently from me. Making sure that the track is prepped and ready takes time and we have a toddler. We also don't have a village. We have my dad and that's about it. He worked so hard and put so much money into getting the track available to be opened but we now know that there are steps we can take to make it better. Constructing a bathroom, building a better drivers stand and perfecting the consistency of the track are things we want to make happen. If it was left up to Brandon he'd race every week and not charge anything because he genuinely just loves RC cars. I take full blame for him not having the support he needs. If I wasn't older I'd have more living family to help with our son but I'm older and the work I did for 20 yrs has played a role in my health too. But he loves me and we make it work. When trying to run anything we seem to get opinions from a lot of folks but if you haven't ran a track or balanced out work, family and a track it's hard to truly understand. On top of all of this the heat has not allowed for much track prep in the evenings. And Incase y'all didn't know he works on a paint booth that is also an oven literally that dries and bakes the paint. Whatever the roof temperature is, is what the booth is.
Our efforts in having a great community track are not over we just simply wish to make it better. Focus on some family stuff and come back in the fall when the temps aren't literally HELL. Please take this time to visit tracks and support them, practice and if you're willing ask Brandon what you can do to help if you'd like. He always works out deals with folks who help as far as trading out racing fees for work offered. We run the track like a business so we get it. We offer a service for a fee so we don't expect people to work on, fix or run our track but it's a lot of work to keep it going.
We also have not had Daddy's money passed down or help financially from anyone. This will always be a work in progress to make it bigger and better. If anything say a prayer for the working man who literally just smiles all the time and wants a track for his fellow RC folks. Thanks.
