This fun family stopped by to get some caricatures at W39thkc - West 39th Street District Third Friday!

These cute kids were so fun to draw. The little guy LOVES dinosaurs and told us all about the dinos on his toy and stickers. And we even coaxed a little smile out of this sweet little girl!

Last night at Third Friday on W39thkc - West 39th Street District was such a great time! We did caricatures just for tips as a way to get to know our neighbors, and it was a great time! We met so many great people, like this lovely family! We were the lucky ones, because we got to do their first family portrait together.

We are all set up on the corner of 39th and Bell in KCMO, across the street from Prospero's Books. We'll be here until 9! The band across the street is warming up and it's going to be a fun evening!

Now that everyone is going back to school, our summer has officially wrapped up. We had an AMAZING summer! Pittsburgh Pride, countless Joplin and Kansas City festivals, moving to Kansas City, seeing The Black Keys in concert, and meeting SO MANY amazing, colorful, and interesting people...we're pretty sure this has been our best summer EVER!

And because we are eternal optimists, we're pretty sure we're about to make this fall our best fall ever, too!

This little artist and her mama were so thrilled to be captured together in a caricature!

This is the second time we've drawn this little girl. Last time, she was shy and unsure about being drawn. It was a totally different scenario this time around! She couldn't wait!!! She chatted away with us and we learned so much about the kinds of art she likes to do. So much so that we felt so inspired to give her a little art lesson! We can already tell that she is going to have so much to offer the world.

Happy 59th Anniversary to this lovely couple! We feel honored that they trusted us to draw them to commemorate nearly six decades together. Here's to many more happy years!
