We are honored to welcome Mr. Daniel K. Bean, Captain, USN (Ret.), as the Guest of Honor for the 250th U.S. Navy Birthday Ball on October 11, 2025 at the NAS Jacksonville Ceremonial Hangar.
⚓️ About Captain Bean
Mr. Bean is a retired U.S. Navy Captain, Legion of Merit recipient, and accomplished attorney with extensive experience in trust and probate matters, complex commercial litigation, and preventative legal counsel. During his Navy career, he served both as a Surface Warfare Officer and a Judge Advocate, exemplifying honor and dedication to our nation.
He clerked for distinguished federal judges, the Honorable J.H. Moore II, the Honorable Ralph W. Nimmons Jr., and the Honorable Harvey E. Schlesinger, before establishing a career in law that continues to serve clients and the community.
A Vanderbilt University graduate (NROTC Scholarship), where he was editor of the student newspaper, and a University of San Diego School of Law graduate (Navy Law Education Program Scholarship), Mr. Bean represents the finest traditions of service, leadership, and commitment to others.
Today, he continues to lead and serve our community as:
- CEO of K9s for Warriors
- CEO of the Jacksonville Naval Museum
- Counsel in the Litigation Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP
- Board Member at 5 Star Veterans Center
- Chairman of the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) Board of Directors
