I’ve been thinking about marriage a lot lately. I believe that family is the backbone to freedom.

As someone who has been divorced, I’ve been asking myself…

Why get married (again)?

What is the purpose?

What is the benefit?

While many folks want marriage, I don’t think everyone is as ready for marriage as they think. I was NOT ready for my first go-around.

For those looking to get married, I encourage you to write down your answers to these questions.

Is marriage about what you want or what you can give?

In many ways you will have to lose you in the name of the YOU-nion.

The YOU-nion is what gets created when the two of you come together as one.

If you go into marriage because of what you want for yourself, it will be a challenging road.

and his wife broke it down for and his wife and I added my perspective based on what I learned from my first marriage.

Why do you want to get married?

Are you willing to submit who you are to the YOU-nion (not to your partner like these toxic relationship podcast teach)?
