Sometimes it's sharing somebody's story, shopping with a local business, donating a pair of shoes, making space for another organization's mission, or simply telling somebody,

🎨✨ MISSISSIPPI TEENS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

We Lit is helping spread the word about Art Doing Its Part, a 2026 art contest for Mississippi high school students using creativity to bring awareness to litter, community pride, and the impact pollution has on Mississippi waterways. 🌊

🖌️Hosted locally through Briarwood Arts Center, BAC is serving as the Region 4 point of contact to help students, parents, and educators navigate the contest and get connected to resources.
This is what turning up with purpose looks like — art, youth voice, environmental awareness, community education, and Mississippi creativity all in one space. 💜✨

Regional winners will have the opportunity for their artwork to be displayed on billboards across the state, promoted through digital media, showcased in a traveling art exhibit, and connected to an organized cleanup effort.

🎨 Open to high school students
🌊 Theme: litter awareness + Mississippi waterways
📅 Deadline: October 23
🏆 Winners announced: November 20

Parents, educators, schools, youth groups, and community leaders — help us get this opportunity in front of Mississippi teens who have something to say through art.

Today officially marked the final day of our 2026 Soles for Survivors Shoe Drive, and while we're still working to collect the remaining boxes and finalize our official shoe count, one thing is already clear...

THIS DRIVE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! 🎉👟

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for every person, business, organization, church, school, and community group that collected, donated, shared our posts, encouraged others, and helped make this year's drive possible.

First, THANK YOU to every person who donated, shared, pulled up, shopped local, and helped spread the word — and to every Soles for Survivors host who opened their doors and made room for the mission. 💗
