Take Note Supporting smoke-free entertainment. You may sign a petition at www.takenote.tv Comprehensive smoke-free laws are desperately needed to protect the public.

Take Note is a grassroots movement of volunteers supporting the right for all workers to be protected from secondhand smoke exposure. If smoking in public is truly a health hazard, then why should bars be exempted? The mere presence of alcohol does not lessen the dangers in any way. Bars should be the first places to be required to be smoke-free. The staff and entertainers that work in bars usually don’t have health insurance.

Words from Take Note. “I am a non-smoking bartender. It is the only job that I could find close to my home. I do enjoy seeing people and socializing. PLEASE, pass the no-smoking law in Indiana. DO NOT back down to the bar and tavern owners; they are blinded by the idea that they will lose their businesses. They won’t; people are there to drink and socialize and will continue to do so even those that smoke. Please Help Me Save My Life. Thank You Harry!!!!!

On Monday night, the Indianapolis City-County Council will consider a smoke-free air ordinance to make most workplaces smoke-free. This ordinance will close most of the loopholes in the current ordinance and protect more workers from the health hazards of secondhand smoke.
