🎉🎧 DJ Impressions is honored to be in the running for Best DJ Entertainment in the 2026 Hutchinson Community’s Choice Awards! 🎧🎉
What makes this nomination even more meaningful is being listed alongside four incredible DJ companies and colleagues I’m genuinely proud to know.
This isn’t just a list of competitors. These are people I’ve shared history with, learned from, laughed with, traveled with, worked alongside, and watched grow. Every one of us brings something different to the table, and I’m proud to celebrate all five of us!
🔥 620 in the Mix
I first met Dom when he attended Boys & Girls Club events that I DJed. Now things have come full circle, and we get to share ideas, learn from each other, and talk shop. Dom has become quite the mixer!
He also has two great partners, Nick and Chris, who each bring their own strengths to the team. Dom, Nick, Brian, Aubrey and I have also attended DJ conferences in Chicago together, building friendships, learning new ideas, and bringing that knowledge back home to better serve our clients.
🎶 B-Epic Events
Brian and I go way back to working and DJing together at the skating rink. We’ve DJed each other’s weddings, traveled to conferences together, and now we even share an office.
Brian is incredibly musically talented. He spent about 10 years performing with his own band before coming back to DJing, and that live-music background gives him a unique perspective and style.
💥 dB Extreme
Rick and Rondi are a true DJ power couple!
We’ve attended many conferences together in Las Vegas and other cities through the American Disc Jockey Association. Our association even hosted three of our own conferences in Wichita a little over a decade ago.
They know how to throw a great party, and I’m pretty sure most people around Hutchinson have attended at least one of them!
Having your wife invested in the business is such an incredible asset, and I understand that now more than ever. Since going full-time about a year and a half ago, having Aubrey so involved in DJ Impressions has been an enormous blessing. Our clients constantly mention her in their reviews, and I’m grateful to have her beside me.
🌪️ Storm Entertainment
I first met Stormy when he was the unforgettable flower man at one of our weddings.
He was outgoing, entertaining, and had such a natural way with words and people that he immediately stood out. I was thrilled when he reached out a few years ago about getting into DJing and we were able to find a great starter set up for a great price.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to watch him grow, expand, and develop his own style. I’m cheering him on and couldn’t be happier to see him in the running, hard work goes a long ways!
🎤 DJ Impressions
The first time this contest came around, people asked why I wasn’t included because many people knew me as DJ Darren instead of my company name DJ Impressions that was included.
After 33 years, the journey has taken me from the skating rink, to bars, to weddings, dances, celebrations, corporate events, and parties all across Kansas, along with a few out-of-state events.
Through every stage of that journey, one of the things I’ve loved most is how much we all help one another.
We trade ideas. We share knowledge. We talk equipment, music, business, events, and ways to improve. We encourage each other, challenge each other, and help each other become better at what we do.
That doesn’t take away from the competition. It makes the entire DJ community stronger.
We all have different strengths, styles, personalities, and ways of creating an event. That means clients have great choices and can find the DJ who fits them best.
At DJ Impressions, our goal is to treat our clients like family and design their event around who they are, what they want, and how they want their celebration to feel.
I’m truly honored to be in such great company, and I’m celebrating every one of us for making it into this contest!
