This city is made up of people from all over the country, military families, veterans, first responders, engineers who came here to help build what protects this nation, and so many others who carry their own memory of that day.

Today, we're thinking of the lives lost, the families who still feel that loss, and everyone in our own community who has a personal tie to 9/11, whether it's a loved one who served, a memory of where they were, or a life that changed course because of it.

Huntsville, take a moment today. However this day touches you, you're not alone in it.

This baby shower called for something guests could graze on all afternoon, so we built out a wraparound table plus individual cups for easy grabbing between conversations (and cake). Styled right into that gorgeous, exposed brick and floral setup (if we do say so ourselves).

This was just one piece of a table full of favorites their guests loved all day.

Last week we had the honor of putting together a few platters for some Athens realtors during an open house for Meritage Homes! 🏡

There's something we love about pairing beautiful homes with beautiful spreads, both are all about making people feel welcome the second they walk in. Grapes, salami, brie, mixed nuts, and a few sweet treats tucked in for good measure.

All the things that bring people together — fresh fruit, sliced meats, cheesy things, crunchy nuts, dried fruit, sweet treats, jelly spread, and good company.

This platter has something for everyone, which is kind of the whole point. Whether you're hosting a backyard hang or a full-on celebration, a spread like this does the talking for you.

A salami rose sounds fancy — but it's actually 3 steps and about 60 seconds. Here's how we do it:

🌹 Step 1: Take 5-6 round slices of salami and lay them flat, slightly overlapping each piece one at a time in a row.

🌹 Step 2: Use both hands to fold the entire row in half lengthwise — just a slight crease, nothing too precise.

🌹 Step 3: Starting at one end, do a loose roll (not too tight!) until you've got a rose shape. Drop it into a cup or bowl and gently spread the edges out like petals.

Pro tip: don't roll straight from the fridge — let your salami warm up a little first so it's easier to work with and holds its shape better.
