“I love how advanced and in depth the calculator goes. There are things to calculate that I never even thought about! It’s been eye opening for sure! The steps explained in the tutorials are clear and easy to follow!
I have only used the Cake Cost app because it was free. The Cake Cost was simple to use and got the job done for me as a beginner bakery business. It didn’t explain how to figure out the numbers for overhead, etc. You also have to upload all your ingredients manually, which is great because the list you create is made only of items that you use. However, it makes that step time consuming. With SmartBake, having the common ingredients uploaded and able to be edited was very helpful.
The explanation of each of the numbers for packaging, overhead, etc was extremely helpful!! SmartBake also went into way more detail to get a specific cost for each cookie, while Cake Cost seemed like a ‘general rule of thumb’ cost number. Also, the conversion feature is the cherry on top!!!”
