I haven’t posted in over a week because I’ve been so mad. Everywhere I go to get some good pictures other than my own property, is covered in filth! What happened to teaching tidiness to our children?
My mom always told me two things before leaving the house. “Leave it better than you found it”, and always “Watch for snakes”. They have stuck with me and will with my kids as well. I am not going to say where this particular location is. Most of you will know by the photos. This is not the same beautiful place that was here when I was a kid exploring these woods. In my opinion has now become an “ entitled” neighborhood. Not everyone there, however, if you can notice an unfamiliar car and within minutes, be on your side-by-side behind me and following, to tell me this is a private beach that I am on and do not belong. I feel like you are observant enough to notice the piles of trash on your said “ private beach” and would have it picked up. For everyone’s information this is Corp land I am speaking of. In my almost 40 yrs of visiting this particular place. I have not once been told by the many Rangers, wardens, state officials, or conservationist that I am doing any wrong or harm or shouldn’t be there unless being told not to ride a four wheeler on the property. So next time it happens, I will be ASSUMING this bucket and trash fell off of your cart and will gladly be returning it to its rightful owner. I only come here to relieve my stresses and try to do the same for others while I’m here. In no way does it help me to get infuriated immediately upon pulling up? When all I see is pop and beer cans, slutty clothing, and just trash, nothing huge, just filth. The only thing that infuriates me more than stalemating in the fast lane. Is laziness, that’s all this is is pure laziness. People can’t take one extra step to throw away when you get home or in an old bag that all that crap came in. It just boggles me to think that that’s what this world has come to. It’s always been a thing. But it is now to a point that is ridiculous and is happening everywhere I go. Our waters, beaches, woods, roadsides, everywhere! What happened and why has it gotten so bad recently? I feel the flux after Covid changes, and all of us being outside more seemed to explode out here in our area. With everyone from out of town coming down, seemingly to trash or natural beauty in our secluded areas to be away from the populated state parks. It is no wonder that they are trying to outlaw public on Corp land. Selling to the highest bidder. Does anyone even care what that means to the ones of us to enjoy and utilize these properties? This is real guys, and would love to continue to utilize these areas without having to gps track and log my time, on what they don’t sell off for profit of our long paid tax money.
If anyone is interested in helping me clean these places up? Please contact me and we can set something up to start a change around here. I’m super busy these days with toddler’S, work, Fire station duties, work some more, and everything else. But I will make time for this. It is heavy on my heart to keep these places clean and respected for what they are. Cold clean, clear Spring creeks aren’t so nice one filled with everyone’s picnics and broken parts.
