A few days late, but another piece designed for book club and this one was extra special because it was their celebratory one year since beginning the club. This floral piece was inspired by Patricia Wants to Cuddle by Samantha Allen. 🌸📚
What starts as a reality dating show set deep in the Pacific Northwest quickly turns into something much stranger. Part satire, part q***r horror, the story plays with ideas about belonging, identity, and what it means to be seen as “other.” The characters arrive looking for love and validation, but the island and Patricia herself have other plans.

Creating this arrangement, I wanted it to feel a little wild and free; something that feels like it could exist in the woods on that strange island. Untamed textures, layered colors, and a slightly unexpected feel, just like the story itself.
Books have a beautiful way of sparking creativity in unexpected places. 🌿

ISAAC’S SONG 🎶🌼
Designed in response to Isaac’s Song by Daniel Black — a story rooted in voice, resilience, and becoming; this piece feels like quiet strength in bloom.
I chose a classical white bust vessel to represent legacy and identity then crowned it with movement and warmth.
Golden ranunculus and butter roses for light.
Wild yellow oncidium dancing upward like music notes.
Soft peach blooms for tenderness.
Textural pods and berries for depth and grounding.
The palette mirrors the cover; sunlit golds, deep warmth, and earthy undertones. The design tells its own story: growth rising from stillness.
This is what happens when literature meets floristry.
When a story becomes a crown. 👑

Another late post, but this beauty went out last week and lingered with me.
Inspired by Masters of Death by Olivie Blake, this piece mirrors the story’s quiet tension—deep plum and wine-toned blooms layered against moments of softness and light. Dark, sculptural flowers anchor the arrangement like grief and immortality, while brighter purples and reds push forward, full of feeling and life. Even the trailing greens feel intentional with movement, time, and the way love continues to grow despite endings.
Moody, romantic, and a little haunting—just like the story itself. Ford & Petal

A little late but… There’s something magical about when flowers meet a good story ✨
This kissing ball was created especially for book club, inspired by Mistletoe & Mishigas—a story full of heart, tradition, humor, and just the right amount of holiday sparkle.
I leaned into classic winter textures with frosted greens, pinecones, and bright pops of red, tying it all together with a simple ribbon nodding to tradition and togetherness. Just like the book, it’s cozy, festive, and meant to be shared.
Florals tell stories too—and this one was such a joy to bring to life.

Next up at Ford & Petal… a floral piece inspired by Payback’s a Witch. This one leans into all the magic the story gives us — that witchy, slightly gothic, playful vibe that makes the book so fun. Think a moody palette of deep plum and wine for mystery and romance, midnight black for that classic witchy undertone, emerald green for enchantment, and a touch of dusky pink for the soft sapphic glow woven through the story.Where flowers and stories meet, this one will feel like a spell — dark, warm, and just a little sparkly. A special thank you to Colby for hiring me monthly to create these pieces and for giving me space to explore this creative side of Ford & Petal.

Floral crown, candle holder, or wreath — so many ways to bring this story to life. This piece, inspired by The Crowns of Nyaxia, is the ultimate nod to a world of beauty, danger, and divine darkness.🌑🖤
Built as if it were worn by someone stepping into the House of Night, crowned by the goddess herself — each bloom layered with mystery, devotion, and a touch of shadow.
This one’s for you —who loves where flowers and stories meet.

🍂 Fall might just be my new favorite time to do flowers — the colors, the textures, the cozy vibes… I’m still dreaming about these blooms that went out yesterday for Lauren at the stunning Gibbet Hill. ✨
Couldn’t have done it without my right-hand man — the ultimate time manager, heavy-lifter, and all-around best. 💪🏻💛
