Your wedding doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to be incredible.

Emma and Geoff told us from the beginning that they wanted a beautiful wedding filled with their own “goofy charm,” and this past Saturday at The English Manor, that’s exactly what they created.

Personalized seed packets welcomed their guests to their seats. Custom signage featured sketches of their cats. Their light purple color palette filled the day with personality. And immediately after their first look? A Pokémon battle, obviously.

Even their proposal involved Pokémon. Geoff convinced Emma to take a day off from grad school and work in exchange for a day-date that included her favorite steak lunch and some Pokémon Go. When the rainy, cold weather changed the outdoor plan, Geoff was ready. He brought her inside an orchid-filled greenhouse, surrounded by flowers, and asked her to marry him.

Just a couple of years later and they were standing together on their wedding day under sunny skies, surrounded by the people they love, celebrating a relationship that still felt completely and totally "them".

With Limelight handling both photography and DJ entertainment, our teams knew the plan, knew what mattered to Emma and Geoff, and worked together throughout the day to keep everything moving smoothly. They got to laugh, celebrate, battle a few Pokémon, and eventually hit the dance floor without worrying about what needed to happen next.

Sunny skies. High vibes. Lots of laughs and an incredible amount of love.

But most importantly, a wedding that felt unmistakably Emma and Geoff.

You know that feeling when you look around your reception and realize everyone you love is out there with you?

Your friends are singing at the top of their lungs, your family is dancing together, and somehow nobody seems ready to sit down. That’s the kind of reception so many couples picture when they start planning their wedding.

Creating that energy starts long before the first song plays.

We take the time to learn what you love, what you don’t, who your people are, and how you want your reception to feel. Then, once the party starts, your DJ is reading the room all night. Knowing when to bring back a throwback, when to change direction, when to build the energy, and when to let a moment breathe.

Because a packed dance floor isn’t about following the same playlist at every wedding. It’s about understanding the people in the room and creating an experience that feels like YOUR celebration.

And when it’s done right, you shouldn’t be thinking about any of that.

You should just be on the dance floor with your favorite people, wondering how the night is already almost over.

Courtney and Joe’s wedding day came with a little weather suspense, but somehow everything worked out exactly when it needed to.

With rain threatening throughout the day, we kept a close eye on the sky, adjusted the plan when we needed to, and made the most of every dry window that opened up. Because when the weather is unpredictable, the goal isn’t to let the forecast take over. It’s to have a team that knows how to pivot while still protecting the moments that matter most.

Courtney and Joe still got their first look, portraits, and time with their wedding party around The Hamilton Manor without feeling like they were racing the clock or missing out on their wedding day.

Then came the part that mattered most. Courtney’s brother officiated their ceremony as they exchanged vows, their families celebrated right alongside them, and the rest of the night was filled with laughter, dancing, and all those little moments you could never fully plan for.

If you’re planning your own wedding and watching the weather forecast feels like one more thing to worry about, remember that you don’t have to control every detail for the day to be incredible. You just need the right people around you, a thoughtful plan, and a team you trust enough to let you actually enjoy it.

Courtney and Joe, congratulations! Here’s a little sneak peek from a day that proved the forecast doesn’t get to decide how your wedding feels.

Should “Sweet Caroline” or “Shout” automatically land on your wedding do-not-play list just because they feel overplayed?

Maybe not.

Some songs become wedding classics because they do something really well: they bring different generations together, get people singing, and create those big shared moments on the dance floor.

That doesn’t mean every couple should play them. Your wedding music should still feel like you. But before you ban a song just because you’ve heard it before, it’s worth thinking about the reaction it creates and whether that energy fits the night you want.

In Episode 16 of We Love That For You, we’re talking all about wedding do-not-play lists, must-play songs, guest requests, long Spotify playlists, and how much freedom your DJ actually needs to shape the night around you and your guests.

If you’re planning your wedding music right now, this is a good one to hear before you finalize that list.

🎧 Episode 16 is live now wherever you listen to podcasts.

There are so many big decisions to make while planning a wedding that some of the simplest things are easy to forget. 🤍

You probably already know when the ceremony starts and what song you’re dancing to, but have you planned a few minutes to be alone together? Who is holding your vows? When are you actually going to eat? Who knows where grandma needs to be for family photos?

None of these things sound huge on their own, but taking care of them ahead of time can make your wedding day feel so much easier.

The goal isn’t to plan every second. It’s to take care of enough beforehand that when the day arrives, you can stop thinking about the checklist and actually enjoy it. ✨

You know it was a good wedding when the photos get progressively more chaotic as the night goes on. 😂🎉

Once the glow sticks came out, everyone was all in. Friends were singing together, people were getting lifted onto shoulders, and the dance floor had that kind of energy where nobody wanted to be the first person to leave.

That’s what makes a reception memorable. It’s not just having great music. It’s creating a night where your guests feel comfortable enough to let loose and actually enjoy every second of celebrating with you. 🎶

Want your wedding night to feel like this? Let’s create a celebration your guests won’t stop talking about. 🤍

Groom prep deserves more attention than it gets. 🤍

When you picture your wedding photos, your mind probably goes straight to the first look, the ceremony, portraits, and the reception. But there’s an entire part of your story happening before any of that begins.

For Daniel, those hours weren’t just about putting on a suit and getting ready to walk down the aisle. They were time spent with some of the people who know him best, soaking in the excitement before one of the biggest moments of his life.

Of course we photographed the details. The suit, cufflinks, watch, shoes, and vows all help tell the story. But what we’re really watching for is everything happening around them.

The friend helping straighten a tie. The drink poured before heading out. The inside jokes that have probably been told a hundred times. The laughter that keeps the nerves away. And those quieter moments when it starts to sink in that in just a few hours, you’re getting married.

That’s why having photography coverage of both sides of the morning matters.

Years from now, you won’t just get to see what was happening while you were getting ready. You’ll get to see what your person was doing too. Who was beside them, how they were feeling, and all the little moments you couldn’t possibly have witnessed because you were living your own.

Your wedding gallery should tell the whole story, not just the parts you were there to see.

And judging by these photos, Daniel had a pretty great crew helping him start this chapter. 🥃📸

There’s something different about hearing your favorite songs when you’re surrounded by the people who know every word right along with you. Your best friends are singing at the top of their lungs, someone’s pulling another person onto the dance floor, and before you know it, nobody’s thinking about what time it is.

That’s where having the right DJ comes in. It’s knowing what to play, when to play it, and how to keep that energy going without making the night feel forced.

Because when the music is right and your favorite people came ready to celebrate, the dance floor takes care of the rest. 🤍✨

There’s something extra special about hearing what the experience felt like from the other side of the camera. 🤍

Jasmine’s words meant so much to us because they touched on the part of a wedding day that matters most: feeling taken care of from the planning conversations all the way through the celebration itself.

When you’re planning a wedding, you’re trusting your team with so much more than a timeline or a list of formalities. You’re trusting them to listen to what matters to you, remember the little things, keep the day moving, and make sure you can actually enjoy everything you spent so long planning.

That’s exactly what we hoped to create for Jasmine.

DJ Moe kept the energy going all night, our entertainment team helped every reception moment flow naturally, and the photo booth gave their friends and family another fun way to be part of the celebration.

On the photography side, Jessica and the team made sure the moments Jasmine told us were important actually happened, including those group photos with every table.

And that’s the kind of experience we want for every couple.

You shouldn’t have to spend your wedding day wondering if something is being missed or worrying about what happens next. You should be able to trust your team, stay present, and know the memories that matter most are being taken care of.

Jasmine, thank you for trusting Limelight with so many parts of your wedding day and for sharing such kind words with us.

Knowing you can look back at your photos, remember the energy of the room, and relive how the day felt means everything. 🥂✨
