PRESENTING 100 BOATS BY
SYED HASAN

Syed Hasan captured the integrity of the Houston community during its time of crisis in 2017 as Hurricane Harvey devastated the city. As everyday heroes came to the rescue of those in despair, the city became “Houston Strong.”
100 Boats was developed to pay homage to the incredible generosity of the individuals from near and far whose contributions made the difference between life and death. The local honorees, chosen by Hasan for their heroism and unparalleled spirit, will be present and receive special recognition during the event.

Donations are welcome. All ages. Drinks and our special pompeii style pizza will be served.

Today is the 23rd anniversary of AvantGarden.

Being the creator and owner of this magical venue is a very special privilege, I'm infinitely thankful for the opportunity.

For me it has been a constant effort; an interesting obstacle course of sorts, a mysterious labyrinth full of surprises.

However, it has given me in return: friends, priceless memories, a valuable purpose, sustenance for my family and many others, countless joyful times.

And it has given our talent rich community of artists, musicians, poets, comedians, dancers, friends and patrons a place to call their home.

THANK YOU for being an important part of AvantGarden, you all made it happen. I hope we continue to enjoy it together for many years to come.

This is a picture of the century old house that is now AvantGarden, taken the day I bought it in 1995.
