In this time of Covid weddings and events have been different than they have ever been. Now guest list are smaller and created with more thought and consideration. Making plans with venues are more restrictive (or at least they should be). Even food service is more meticulously curated to ensure the safety of all in attendance. There is so much to think about!

I thank all my great vendors and clients for there care and concern while still creating awesome events for my clients!

Rule of Engagement #4
Can you guess what this rule is? You guessed it! It's time to find and hire a professional wedding planner and designer. By hiring a pro-planner you'll save you and your fiancé time, money and your sanity. A great planner will help you stay on track with your budget, curate your wedding style and manage your wedding planning process so that you can enjoy this time and not be pulled in a million directions. They are your right and and cool head when things get touchy. {Side note} Make sure you know and understand the difference between a wedding planner, coordinator and designer. Some Wedding Planners are all three, but some are not. Do your research and find the best one for you and your needs. This will be the cap on your solid foundation for planning your dream wedding.

You have now set a foundation for planning and now it's time to do some fun stuff! It's time to create the vision for your wedding. It's time to get online or buy magazines to look for wedding inspiration. Also, it's time to get organized. Find a good binder and create a wedding folder on your computer desktop. If your not sure how to do this then you are the perfect client for rule #4!

Rule of Engagement #2
Ok, now that you've took a little time to digest that your getting married it's time to start have "the talk". This is a good time to have a relaxed conversation with your fiancé about a few things. The top three {3} things we suggest putting on the table are Budget, Guest List and Other Financial Contributors. There are more things to cover in this rule but start with these three and your planning life will be so much better.
Here is what to cover in each of these topics:
Budget: Set the amount of money you and your fiancé are comfortably willing to spend on your wedding. {Side Note} This may change due to wedding style, size and others contributing to the wedding.
Guest List: This will also determine how your budget will be spent. Also remember you may have to compromise in this area. Not only with your fiancé but also with parents (on both sides).
Other Financial Contributors: These are your parents, aunts and uncles, etc. These people will be paying for items for your wedding and will want or should have a say in what happens with your wedding. Be mindful of this aspect and also make your wishes and vision clear when you meet with them. If you don't want any outside input or request for your wedding, don't ask for or expect money from anyone. Remember if Mom and Dad hold the purse strings they ultimately have a huge amount of say about how and want the money gets spent on.

Tonight we want to give all of the newly engaged couples some tips for the beginning process of planning your wedding day.

Rule of Engagement #1
Now that you are engaged where do you start?
No where! That's right do nothing right away. Take a week to process the thought of getting married. Don't run out a purchase anything, ask people to be in the wedding party or start planning without a solid plan. Just simply take some time to daydream about your wedding day.
