I've got a SUPER busy week ahead with work, content shooting, and traveling back to DC today! I'm a bit ambitious and know I probably won't have the energy for half the things I've got planned this week, but a girl can dream and plan accordingly, lol.

I'm feeling more rested and recovered after my fluid draining procedure, but I still have moments where I get winded and fatigued, which makes things incredibly tough. Today is a flight/travel day, and I'll be alone, but I've got this! I won't be heading out until a little later this evening, but I've got a little surprise to share later today, so stay tuned!

Say a little prayer for continued energy today, smooth flights, strength, and no hiccups.

Long post alert; Today is the day for my fluid drain procedure. If you know me, you know how incredibly hard this is to face. Although the procedure is pretty straightforward and virtually painless, i suffer from debilitating anxiety. My anxiety and fear is through the roof knowing I have to be awake during the process as they guide a massive needle between my ribs and deep inside my body to collect the build up causing my horrible breathing issues. I am trying desperately to focus on the end result and how much better I'll feel when I'm able to fully take a deep breath again for the first time. But that is easier said than done😞. For the past week I’ve been stuck in bed or couch with my husband having to push me around in a wheelchair just to use the bathroom, or I'll struggle to breathe even worse if I try to walk. It's been awful.

My procedure starts in just a few hrs, and I can't sleep, but I feel calm right now. I'm just focusing on the end goal and getting through this and how it'll all be over soon. Please say a little prayer for the meds to calm me, a smooth and quick procedure, and instant relief to feel better so that when I leave, I am as good as new again. Everyone I've spoken to that has had it done says it's pretty quick, and they instantly can breathe and feel better after the fluid is drained. I can't wait for that moment!

Is it finally time for and sweater weather here in Houston? It's 48° today, and it's nice to have a break from sweltering temps! Who doesn't love a good bomb?

A couple of nights ago, I received the results of my latest PET scan... It gutted me🥺.

My cancer has spread to lymph nodes in my chest and nodules in my lungs. Plus, a large pleural effusion (fluid) on my right side causes me issues with breathing. How do you go from feeling like yourself again just a couple weeks ago, during your much needed break, to now dealing with this. I feel like I'm paying for it now, and that's such a sucky place to be in. Choosing between a life balance and mental health, or battling thoughts in the back of your mind that things will go rogue if you do; so is it worth the risk? My good friend Terrye told me to "try not to look at any news as good or bad but as an informative precautionary message. Follow any treatment plans, but know God has a plan. " I love this and think it's such great advice. I am motivated to just keep pushing forward. There's nothing I can do to change things, but I can choose how I react to it and how I move forward. I'll meet with my oncologist soon to discuss options and a plan of action. This will just be yet another hurdle to overcome. I'll take it day by day and stop to celebrate those good days between! Thanks for ALL the constant prayers, love, and support. They mean more to me than you know.

Starting the week off in a positive mindset. I am getting myself prepared mentally for chemo tomorrow after this much needed break and time to recover. I've felt so much like my old self again, but it's time to get back into kick ass mode! I know this week will be tough with all that is ahead, but I am ready to tackle it. !!!!

2 weeks ago, I could barely lift my own body weight. Going to the bathroom was a chore. I was suffering from extreme fatigue and critically low iron levels, dehydration, no appetite, pain, you name it. I had to use a wheelchair to get around. To say my last Chemo treatment kicked my ass is a gross understatement. Today, I walked through the with little fatigue and windedness, all on my own😭. I've been looking forward to this DC trip for the past month, and with the help of my AMAZING oncologist and team clinic, I AM HERE! Heading to DC for 2 weeks with my hubby and overwhelmingly grateful that this is happening for me after thinking it wouldn't be possible this time, given circumstances. God is good, and making these memories are not lost on me. It takes so much effort to get up and go- an ENTIRE suitcase of wound care supplies, an endless amount of prescription meds to control my pain, and around the clock planning. But, it's so worth it to be here. So worth it to be out of bed and change the scenery. So many cannot, and I am typically one of those people. But today...the Phoenix rises!!!

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month, and that means so much more than wearing pink and purchasing cute items with ribbons on it. In fact, wearing pink does absolutely nothing to truly help us and companies benefit from slapping a ribbon on their products, all in the name of promoting "Awareness". I think we're all aware of breast cancer. We need more research, more funding, and more support. I challenge you to support a cause. If you're purchasing products, do your research and ask those companies how much of their proceeds they are donating and to which charities? If you're looking for a place to start, I encourage you to support a foundation that supports me and so many other triple negative breast cancer fighters. Triple negative breast cancer is the most aggressive, with the fewest treatment options, and has the least amount of funding. Support and donate to
this month, and feel good about knowing exactly where your money is going. If you can't, please share. It takes just a couple of seconds to spread the word. Let's do more and help however we can. My life, and so many others, literally depend on it

Travel these days looks a lot different for me, but I will never let it stop me! I am heading to DC this weekend with the hubs for the next 2 weeks. I've been counting down the days, and with how yucky I've felt lately, I wasn't sure I'd even be able to go (but GOD answered those prayers). Be sure to check out my IG stories this upcoming week!
