🚨Long post alert, but worth the read!
Our funeral home & memorial service clients always challenge us. Simply because the occasion is a celebration of life, but unfortunately one that has ended. The requests are rarely simple, because they want to capture as much life as possible in this final moment.
This particular customer requested a hankie, but mandated the following be included as a reflection of his life:
•barber tools
•a barber pole
•angel wings
•peanuts
The entire consultation, I was wondering how could I possibly tie all of this together in a simple design, but never once worried the customer with the fact that her requests may have been a bit much. The fact that such a young life was ended far too soon by a senseless act of violence was more than enough for me to try my best to meet this request.
Needless to say, she was satisfied with the end product. I personally treat each customer with care, giving them flexibility in their design at no additional charge. Life is tough enough, so we take pride in being able to deliver a small bit of happiness for any occasion. Although many people say to not mix business with personal, sometimes the need to be personable and extend a bit of grace to your customers can go a long way in being successful.
