Today, we’re listing our top 5 art museums in Houston!
1) Museum of Fine Arts Houston: While the MFAH always has a steady collection of varying work, the visiting exhibits featured here are definitely not ones to miss!
2) The Printing Museum: This unique museum combines art with a great deal of history, showing the path to contemporary print imagery.
3) The Blaffer: Located at the University of Houston, the Blaffer measures up to its neighbor museums, while showcasing a great deal of local artists in all styles.
4) The Menil: The Menil is a contemporary museum that focuses on surrealism. While the work is certainly interesting, the building and its outer grounds are truly breathtaking and a work of art within themselves!
5) The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston: The contemporary works featured in this museum, along with its intriguing layout always equals a great deal of fun and educational to be had!

1) Georgia O’Keeffe: We love Georgia for her use of bright colors, the movement she creates in her paintings & her love of nature.
2) Elizabeth Peyton: Elizabeth has such a unique and powerful way of effortlessly capturing portrait work in a loose and textural style, unlike a lot of her peers.
3) Frida Kahlo: Frida captures surreal images with bright color, intriguing composition, and powerful imagery.
4) Mary Cassatt: Mary shows us how important composition is. She expressed such delicacy using complex color palettes that adhere to the mood of her paintings.
5) Hilary Harkness: Hilary creates surreal images that often mix atmosphere with smaller figures. Her creations are nothing like anything we’ve seen before and they always make us think!
