Out at the teacher rally downtown to support my wife and do some photo journalism. A couple thousand folks showed up with plenty of cars honking to show their support. You’ll never know but I remain unbiased for any rally or protest I photograph. My personal opinions don’t matter even if I support what’s taking place. It’s the best way to be a better photographer and photo journalist.

Once again! We’re exploring the vibrant streets of Medellín, Colombia through my lens 📸🌆 From colorful murals to bustling markets, every corner tells a story. Show me what you got! Another round of street photos for you! It’s funny. The more I do street photography the more I really start to understand 2 things.
1: Black and white is honestly the way it should be. But of course that is an opinion, not a fact.
2: Practice really does make perfect. You start seeing things you normally didn’t with the subject along with light and shadow. Your framing and time to get a subject into frame get better and better.

If you’re just starting shooting street photography, don’t think it’s going to be art right away. It does take practice. At the beginning my goal was to have just 1 shot that I loved and the rest of it could be dumped in the trash. It comes down to mostly luck and timing with about 15% skill that comes from practice.

Some captures from the photo walk .are.blind and I did a couple weeks ago. We stopped at for a cup of coffee. I started grabbing shots through the cracks. I really like how they turned out even though I really wasn’t looking into the camera. Trying to remain inconspicuous 😁

Welcome to Comuna 13 in Medellin, Colombia 🤘🏻. I’ve never experienced something quite like this. Once a dangerous place, now a tourist destination. Did a small bit of street photography going up and down the winding streets. Much more to come from this day!

Once again that boy Elliot .are.blind came out with some hella great shots of me on our photo walk. I edited close to 400 photos from that day. Street photography is so good to just practice shots you have no control over. Using light, the environment, and people as your unknowing subjects, makes you be on your toes constantly. I even shot about 14 shots on medium format film which I’ll get developed soon as they’re sitting with 11 rolls that still need developing 😭😭

Welcome to 2025. Last year, started off fantastic. I was involved in so many creative endeavors and met some amazing people. Then there was a huge dip in weddings and the rest of the year took a turn. I barely had any weddings from March until September. I probably could count the amount of weddings on one hand for that time frame. September through the rest of the year was time to recover when the weddings came back in. I'll admit, I fell off creatively. Barely posted here or anywhere really. My mental health took a bad route for a minute. I applied to many jobs but none of them called back. It was a nightmare. BUT, 2025 is looking up and I have recovered from 2024 and it's time to get back on it.

I'm back! It was a crazy summer for me and so much happened. First the lack of work in weddings affected me way more than I thought and my mental health was not the greatest. Only because I was stressing on finding work.
Two: I got diagnosed with ADHD in August and it's taken me a while to get used to the medication. I'd become so focused on one thing that I forgot all about social media.
Three: the saving grace which has put me in a great spot mentally is we got to borrow a Sprinter Van for a few weeks. Juli and I have spent a couple 4 day weekends out in nature and just relaxing 😌

I got these shots a few months ago just as it was starting to become spring. It was a great photowalk and I hope to get back out next week. I'm also taking the van up to Jackson Lake state park. It's one of the darkest skies in Colorado. I'm going to get some milky way shots.

Here comes another Monday! I figured since I did black and white photos on the last post that I would do some color today just focusing on one of the couples. They were super easy to work with as they were really practicing for their upcoming wedding.

How about some black and white for this fine Saturday? For the first time in months, I've woken up past 10:30 am. It was nice to sleep in without worrying about anything.

So like my reel yesterday, these are just a small sample of what I came away with at the bridal shoot I was invited to. I'm so happy with how these photos came out. Not only that but I think I created about 4 or 5 different presets out of the mix.
All of them were shot on Canon EOS R and a 24-105.

About a year ago I got my first concert gig. Haven't done it since but I was a great experience and I learned a ton from it. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to get a few more local bands interested in live photos! This band was and they were up 2nd that night and they killed it! They're the band playing over the photos. Badass right?

These were some of the first portraits I ever took as a photographer. That was about 7 years ago. After spending these years honing my skills as a photographer, I'm now setting out to do it professionally. These were also shot on a manual 50mm lens. I was lucky I even nailed the focus 😅😅

Saturday morning I went out with .of.focus.studio to a free car show at Coors field. I haven't shot a car show on digital before so I figured it was a good time to give it a shot. I have to say I love how some of the photos came out. I love the colors and contrast I was able to pull out of these images. I think I have a decent eye for car photos.

Hey it's me, ya boi! PLEASE ignore the headphone bald spot! 😅😅Heading out for another street photography session with .of.focus.studio on this awesome May day. I just got these photos back from photography from when we went out on Colfax with our medium format cameras. Both rocking the .official cameras. It sucks film is so expensive to develop right now, I'm sitting on 10 rolls of the stuff.
