These past two weeks have been incredibly difficult for the Texas Hill Country. While the recent catastrophic events have brought devastation to many, they’ve also reminded us of the strength and unity we share as a state.

We are beyond grateful that our venue was spared and has been able to provide housing for several First Responders during this time. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up and come through our doors to lend a hand.

A little slice of Heaven in the Texas Hill Country

Established as Mountain Home Cottages in the 1930's, Moon Shadow Haven wedding venue on Johnson Creek is a little slice of Heaven in the Texas Hill Country. The property is situated on 17 acres among the trees and above the 1/3 mile of frontage on Johnson Creek. We are located about 30 miles west of Fredericksburg, and only 15 miles from Kerrville. We have accommodations on site to sleep up to 26 people at our lodging under Cuerna Vaca Cabins. You can see further info on the lodging under the Cuerna Vaca Cabins page. We can currently accommodate outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions of up to 200 guests. There are plans in the works for the addition of a large lodge with an indoor reception area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have concerning our venue or the accommodations.
