9/11 memorial wreaths I created for services held today by the HPD, HFD, and the American Legion Post 560

20 years, I still remember exactly what I was doing that day. I was a Freshman in college, I had gone to class that morning and had returned to my dorm to check my email in the afternoon. I had a penpal from Indonesia who had emailed me saying that he had heard the US was under attack and asked if I was ok. I hadn't turned on a TV or anything at this point so I didn't know what he was talking about. After that I met up with a friend to go to the cafeteria for lunch, I told her about the email and she hadn't heard anything yet either. Once we walked into the cafeteria there were several big screen tvs on, with news footage of a plane being driven into the second tower, the first already a pillar of smoke. We have never been the same since. Prayers to those 3000 families affected and to those first responders still living in poor health as a result of being there. This is a day we will still be telling our grandchildren about, let us not forget.
