Making fast progress on this self portrait! I set up a mirror next to me and I’ve been using only a mirror as reference!

Having so much fun with this. Even made a mini version for a color study.

So excited for my upcoming weeks with Florence art academy!! Finally on to oil painting!

This is my transferred sketch I drew from life on to a canvas where I did a wipeout using gamsol and raw umber. I only have two days to make this a finished painting so wish me luck!!

Finally finished with my John Singer Sargent master copy in charcoal!!

Learned so much doing this one. I very rarely use charcoal let alone white charcoal so this was a bit out of my comfort zone.

The measuring stage often feels like a math equation. Just a bunch of angles and shapes.

First is another charcoal master copy on toned paper from John Singer Sargent

Second is a portrait from life on toned paper

Been working on my master copy these past two days! More to come on this one!

Officially in Jersey City studying with the Florence Academy of Art.

Made this painting as a Christmas gift for my longest friend.

It was an absolute challenge because my cat knocked down my still life I was originally working from, and 3 days before Christmas I had to completely start over with a more simple still life. Ah the challenges of working from life.

You can swipe to the end to see what it originally was and is now buried underneath a new layer of paint.
