A tweet that summarizes why I'm compelled to celebrate traditions - well, some of them. Lol
Do you feel like this is true for you?
This is so true
Ever have the kind of enthusiasm that causes internal screaming and silent strings of expletives? Because 😲
So excited to see this design come together!!
Today's cotillion design!
Definitely watching a second time through for the, uh, costumes. Yes, the costumes.
Ok, but a little bit for the costumes. hahaha
I've been so excited to share this news!!
It's my joy and honor to do bridal differently every day. I can confidently say there's no other store or designer out there doing what I do the way I do it. Today my presentation for Wedding MBA is live. It's a delight to share my framework with industry peers, hopefully making authentic service and the confidence therein absolutely contagious throughout the industry. Collaborating with my brides to push the envelope is exciting, but influencing other professionals to step beyond the status quo is thrilling. 🥳🤩
Find me under "Wedding Specialties: Gown & Tuxedo".
Oh, I'm sorry, was 2020 supposed to dim this shine?
Slay all day.
How is it that every single gown up for inspection, bride approval, AND arriving - are ALL rose gold and blush this week!? In the lyrics of Icona Pop, "I don't care. I love it!" This special celestial beauty will get the "star treatment" to the fullest. 🌟✨🌟
Have a wild idea? Book a virtual consult today; no harm in exploring it! We can walk you through nearly infinite fabric options remotely - because sometimes you need something as specific as rose gold star glitter tulle. Your limit is your imagination - not the local fabric store. Statement fabric not your jam? Let's talk about the jaw-dropping possibilities of couture beading or embroidery!
We showed you a client's modified version earlier today, but I don't think we ever revealed "Divine"! A favorite from our 2021 collection. Can't wait to see it in gold or all white....! On sale for a limited time. Message us anytime with customization questions! Go take a look:

Behind the scenes sneak peek today at this customized version of one of our collection gowns. The bishop sleeve was an inspired choice! Loving it. Just neckline rhinestones to finish her off now. 💖

It's a bridal jumpsuit sort of year.
Next, her overskirt!
This moment *gestures wildly* calls for satire. Be well, celebrate compassionately, love beyond four walls.
After I posted photos from Jared and my beautiful wedding weekend on Instagram, many of you expressed concern. You saw photos of 300 guests gatheri...

The unveiling!
New Heritage brides appreciate an artistic collaboration, and of course it doesn't stop with the gown! I'm obsessed with this reminiscent of an Dutch Masters painting. Inspired couples + artists = masterpiece events. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wedding Wednesday - Katie and Johnny ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Walking along the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Johnny and Katie stopped to sit on a bench that sat off to the side atop a peninsula. Katie noticed her mom with her camera, which was not unusual as her mom is a journalism teacher and is always taking photos of the family. As they sat down Johnny asked Katie if she knew where they were, she said “a bench, duh”, as she said this Johnny began to get down on one knee. The next thing Katie heard from Johnny was “No, this is Marriage island”, as she realized what was happening, she began crying. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The couple chose to get married at their family-friends’ ranch, Rain Creek Ranch in Brady, Texas. They visit every year for Thanksgiving and knew it was the perfect place to begin their new journey together. As guest arrived, they were prompted to “pick a seat, not a side” where blue and black western blankets covered hay seating. Katie walked down the aisle in a stunning red custom gown from Renegade Bridal. Her veil was made from her first communion veil, which was made from her mother’s wedding veil. The couple celebrated with family and friends as the Texas night shone with stars. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Katie's merlot and mauvetastic gown is maybe among the best examples of all time of the value of the tech illustration step of our process. Our consult sketches are a great start, but when we're playing with the richness and complexity of layering 3 colors in 3 totally different fabrics, it can be a lot to visualize - even for me! To communicate to our production team exactly the proportions we want, placement of seams and the like, I have to do this step anyway. Before we green light a project, I always want to make sure my brides-to-be are imagining their dream dress EXACTLY the same as I am! Peace of mind is the name of the game. - or maybe it's an excuse for me to draw pretty pictures. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Win-win, either way. haha⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Working on this for a special someone today ❤️
She's a couture-loving diva who simultaneously loves minimalism and DRAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAA!!!
We've had a few people ask recently about whether we are considering changing our name due to the unfortunate correlation to white supremacy. We're going to sit down our pretty things for a while and talk about that.
Hey, everyone! Honestly, I've spent my week glued to Facebook, trying to assist in the ugly parts of emotional labor from the growth our society faces right now. The last thing I cared about was tokenizing anyone by being just another black box in your feed. I find myself in studio on a quiet Saturday, though, so let's dig in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New Heritage was an idea. How I design has never been as simple as "making pretty things", but rooted quite deeply in the importance of deep, true authenticity for each woman. It's about interpreting and evaluating traditions on their merit, sidestepping our passive compliance with antiquated habit. Because I often serve the sorts of brides that mainstream forgets, I'm fortunate to have practice with listening.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In that spirit, I'd like to just pass along this INCREDIBLE podcast that blew me away. is an expert on how racism negatively impacts us ALL. If compassion isn't a sufficiently compelling argument, the "economy first!" folks among us will love this thinkpiece:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'd like to share a few of the ways I'm dedicated to keeping part of my overall mission, with the gifts I have to offer.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) I will continue to celebrate diverse beauty without tokenizing black women's bodies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) I will invest in duplicate inventory to create more sample gowns created to work specifically for black skin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) I will support black businesses with unreciprocated promotion and hiring of their talent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4) I will make myself available to step into uncomfortable learning dialogue with my peers.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5) I will seek out black voices and specifically educate myself on Black American history. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's been a tough week, but I acknowledge the war that so many of us have not. I love you. I hear you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Just like we showed in Nadia's project, one of my favorite ways to put a really personal touch on a bespoke gown is with . Our artisan team in NYC die cuts and presses each petal by hand. Floral can be so symbolic, too. Yellow roses for friendship. Bluebonnets nod to Texas. Sunflowers remind us of a special summer. Is there a flower that's a part of your story? Or could we use them to honor the memory of a loved one?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not every idea starts ENTIRELY from scratch. This next newlywed collaboration we'll share is actually an amazing shared story dating back a few years! This is a created for , and my most ambitious to date. I wanted to experiment with texture within the constraint of only dreamy whites. It became a gown in that collection - and every gown needs the perfect model. Neither of us realized it, but something about that dress would stick with Nadia...for years. More story to come! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Answering a FAQ today: "Do I supply the fabric?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
NO! Goodness no. Unlike working with your local tailor, we work closely with dozens of fine fabric suppliers. Our base rate INCLUDES all your basic fabrics, with nearly infinite luxury upgrades available as well. Besides, sending you fabric shopping would probably overwhelm you the way that I feel in an auto parts store. It's not smart to pay retail fabric prices and nervously overbuy yardage when we have the wholesale connections you need for variety, quality, and adding value you can really see. Leave the sourcing up to me; we can present you with a handful of options for any specific request! You want octopus lace? Because I know where to find octopus lace.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

And - swoon - there it is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We love sharing examples from real brides with whom we've been honored to collaborate. Always look for the "Easter egg" details we include in our custom projects, as they are how we breathe soul into each design. What personal detail could we sneak into your gown to tell your story?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

More behind the scenes into Amanda's gown! When we first meet, we'll create a consult sketch. This is a rough, loose illustration meant to first visualize your dream dress as a reality, front view and back. We'll open a client portal online for you to access this, your measurement chart, our agreement, and more. We'll be sharing the next step, a technical illustration to communicate our collaboration to the production team, in more behind the scenes posts soon! We encourage brides to schedule their consults early, as we work with a max of 5 brides per month. One FAQ: Yes, you can begin your order but return to be measured later. The gown is such an anchor for your wedding vision - so are you ready to start creating?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

PS If you dig fashion illustration, you might enjoy the surprises over ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This week's bespoke sneak peek:
For your daydreaming delight, I wanted to share thoughts on Oscar fashion. A recurring theme you'll find in collaboration with us is that we live for authentic expression. The real winners are the ones whose personalities are, sometimes literally, worn on their sleeve.
Do you have ideas about your wedding, pageant, or gala dress? I want to find your *THING*, your wavelength, your iconography, your essence, and just let the gown flow from that energy.
