Sure there are times when I think I should pack it in, especially when someone asks why the hats are so expensive or comments that you can get hats cheaper from Amazon. Two years in I try not to let comments like this bother me, yes you can get hats from Amazon but they do not include the hours of hand embroidery that put into each order 😬

It’s been a busy weekend filling orders which I am so thankful for!
When I started embroidering hats nearly four years ago I was so worried that I couldn’t compete with Amazon prices and no one would buy my art pieces. Now I realize that I shouldn’t lower my prices. My hats are all hand embroidered by me personally and take 6-10 hours to make. I use multiple needle sizes and change thread colors and thickness to achieve the look I want. This take times which means higher prices. My lesson learned was not to de value myself to keep up with mass manufacturing.

New day new hat!! It’s been so hot here in Texas that I have been staying inside my cottage to escape from the heat. I miss being outside BUT it has pushed me to make more hat designs.

Happy Monday! I don’t know about you but I felt that this weekend flew by. I was out on vacation visiting family in San Diego and spent Sunday catching up on orders. I was able to complete stitching on two orders which happen to have my fav designs. I will be making the liners today so I can them shipped out this morning!
Nothing beats a good halo hat! The “Traveler” comes with suede band and leather holder which can be used for flowers, feathers or any other embellishments!

This was one of the most challenging custom orders I have had to date as each flower on the brim of the hat is a hand embroidered patch that I created. I did this so the stitching would not show on the underside of the brim.
