In honor of my anniversary week, I wanted to share a funny about how our wedding cake MELTED!! And how we made the best of it. We got married on the HOTTEST day of the year! Our good friend is a very talented cake baker and made us a gorgeous tiered cake. But it was so hot outside (I'm talking 105+), that it melted after just a short time at the cake table. We decided to cut the cake right away and have dessert first! As everyone entered into our tented reception, they were handed a slice of cake. Each year on our anniversary, we eat dessert before dinner to celebrate. 🎉. Things happen, we rolled with it and turned it into something fun that we remember each year.

Cheers to 12 years! My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary today. The priest who married us said "don't take me to the wedding, take me to the marriage," and I think about that advice often. Through all life's ups and downs, we've chosen God and each other, and I am forever grateful for the amazing life we've created. Love you, Ger 🥰
