The kids are officially taking over The Buttercream Queen…

Introducing The Buttercream Queen’s Little Cake Designer Contest! ✨

I want your kiddos to dream up the most AMAZING cake they can imagine. Princesses? Dinosaurs? Monster trucks? Unicorns? 900 pounds of sprinkles? 😂 There are NO RULES when it comes to creativity!

And the best part?!

🏆 The design with the MOST votes will win a FREE custom 6-inch cake INSPIRED BY THEIR DRAWING!

Yep. Your little artist draws it… and The Buttercream Queen will bring it to life! 😍🎂

👑 HOW TO ENTER:

1. Grab/print a Little Cake Designer coloring sheet.
2. Let your child decorate it completely on their own — grown-ups, HANDS OFF! 😉
3. Have them give their masterpiece a cake name!
4. Take a picture of the finished design and post it IN THE COMMENTS OF THIS ORIGINAL POST.

✨ A little Buttercream Queen lately… 👑🧁

The last couple of months have been FULL of buttercream, sprinkles, cookies, cake crumbs, late nights, and some seriously fun creations. 💕 And looking back at all of these together makes my heart so happy!

From birthdays and celebrations to completely custom “can you make THIS into a cake?” ideas — every order that leaves my kitchen gets a little piece of my heart (and usually an unreasonable amount of buttercream 😂).

So here’s a little highlight reel of what I’ve been baking lately. 🎂🍪✨

This 37th birthday cookie cake was such a fun one to create—from the hand-piped Mustang details to all that buttercream goodness around the edge. And yes, sometimes being married to The Buttercream Queen has its perks. 😉👑

Meet Michael, Chief Sprinkle Officer at The Buttercream Queen! 🧁✨

His responsibilities include:
✨ Ensuring adequate sprinkle coverage
✨ Conducting surprise cookie inspections
✨ Supervising all heavy machinery (the mixer 😂)
✨ Providing creative direction whether requested or not
✨ Making sure there is absolutely NO such thing as “too many sprinkles”

He brings enthusiasm, strong opinions, and a firm commitment to making everything just a little more fun. 💙

Between our Quality Control Specialist and our Chief Sprinkle Officer, I’d say The Buttercream Queen has assembled quite the executive team. 😂👑

Meet Elizabeth, The Buttercream Queen’s official Quality Control Specialist! 💕

Her responsibilities include:
✨ Sampling buttercream
✨ Inspecting cookies
✨ Monitoring sprinkle distribution
✨ Making sure Mom doesn’t forget the most important step: taste testing

She takes her job VERY seriously. As you can see, no batch leaves this kitchen without proper inspection. 😉😂

👑✨ Welllll hello again, sweet friends!

I’ve been a little quieter around here lately, but don’t let the silence fool you—the Buttercream Queen kitchen has still been covered in buttercream, sprinkles and entirely too much powdered sugar. 😂

Life got BUSY, and somewhere along the way I realized I haven’t been sharing nearly enough of what I’ve been creating!

So consider this my official dusting-off-of-the-crown. 👑

I’ve got lots of pretty cakes, cookies and sweet creations to catch you up on—and even more fun things coming as we head into fall. 👀🎃

And because I want this page to be more than just “here’s a cake, buy a cake,” I’m bringing you along for more of the fun too: behind-the-scenes chaos, decorating videos, new flavors, customer favorites, polls, sneak peeks and probably a buttercream mishap or two. 😉

Proof that dye-free doesn’t have to mean boring. 👑✨

A little look at some of my recent dye-free bakes! 🧁🍪

One of my favorite challenges is finding ways to bring a theme to life while working around artificial dyes—and still making something that feels every bit as fun and special for the kiddo it’s celebrating. 💕

If your family is dye-free (or you just prefer to avoid artificial colors!), don’t be afraid to ask what’s possible. You might be surprised. 😉
