I got mooned last night! This giant moonflower grows wherever it pleases. I like it in the walkway though as it perfumes the air when you brush past.

One of those hummingbird bees buzzed me out of the way, and then proceeded to moon me too.

Summers are for farmer’s markets, grilling out, double rainbows, lightning bugs and shooting stars. It’s hot and muggy, wet and buggy. But I love my summers and never want them to end.

While harvesting blooms this evening, I spy a bat performing acrobatics. A luffa hits me on the head as I duck under its vine (twice). A gentle breeze apologizes for the mess it made of my flowers in last week’s microburst.

I try to live in the moment, yet still feel panicked, knowing it’s coming to an end. Another pretty butterfly reminds me that nothing stays the same. Let’s just hold off on the pumpkins a little longer, ok?

Farmer’s markets this week:
Thursday 7:30-11am Huntsville Hospital under the tram. Greene Street Market 3-7pm The Greene Street Market at Nativity

Sunday-Market at Midcity at the Camp: 12 noon-4pm The Market at MidCity MidCity District The Camp

You should’ve seen me following this butterfly around in the yard. Comical! It flew right-side up but would only hang upside down. When it knew I was lurking with a camera, it shut its wings and pretended to be a leaf. I’d walk off and it would flutter and show off.

My butterfly lady says it’s an angle wing comma or question mark. (That’s the name) Who names them, by the way? I could think of a better name like “batterfly.”
