I don't usually share stories about my life, but here it goes. At 18, I worked at a camera store in Kenmore Square, where I faced unfair treatment as a woman. I was working on commission-based sales. My boss wouldn't let me sell the expensive cameras, and he would often swoop in and steal customers away from me. HR was a joke. I quit in a blaze of glory…never looked back.

Yesterday, I ran the Retro Mirror Booth at one of Boston's hottest parties, celebrating major successes in the health and fitness industry. It's an incredible company with a diverse group of individuals working together to make the world a better and healthier place.

This was, without a doubt, the best event I've ever been a part of.

Cheers to all the women who walked away from male-dominated industries and proved them wrong. I'm filled with pride standing on a rooftop deck overlooking Fenway Park, right next to the iconic Citgo sign. Hey look mom I made it!
