When I started this journey years ago, I simply loved creating beautiful spaces. I had no idea these same hands would one day design within the Governor’s Residence and now, be trusted to decorate for the Mayor’s Ball.

Serving at the Governor’s Residence was an incredible honor. Being asked to create for the Mayor’s Ball is another humbling milestone I don’t take lightly.

To see my creativity recognized in civic and leadership spaces reminds me that purpose makes room for you.

I’m beyond grateful for every opportunity, every referral, every door that continues to open.

This isn’t just decor, it’s dedication, excellence, and years of refining my craft.

Today I had the honor or designing the sweetest tea party themed baby shower for two lovely parents-to-be as they prepare to welcome their beautiful baby girl 💕 The room was filled with so much love and an abundance of family and friends who came out to celebrate and bless this little one already.

Shay, you looked absolutely beautiful, and I am truly grateful to have been apart of such a special moment in you and Javeer’s lives. Knowing you both were pleased with the outcome makes my heart full. Looking forward to meeting Baby Peterson soon! 🩷

I am truly overflowing with joy and gratitude right now! Being asked to decorate not one, but TWO featured rooms at the Governor’s Residence for the holiday season has been an unbelievable honor.

To think, my name is being spoken in rooms I never even imagined I’d have access to, and now I’m decorating those very rooms! I’m so grateful for every person who continues to believe in my gifts, speak my name in spaces I haven’t stepped into yet, and support my journey in ways big and small.

And what made this experience even more special, was having my baby boy assist me today. We were supposed to decorate yesterday on his 10th birthday, as I thought it would be a cool experience for him, but the weather had other plans. Even though he didn’t get to meet the Governor today, he was still so excited to be there helping his mom work her magic. Truly unforgettable!

I am beyond proud of what I accomplished here and even more inspired for what’s ahead that I dont even know about. This opportunity has reminded me that God is always placing me exactly where I’m meant to be 🙏🏾

To my close family and friends who were aware that this wasn’t a paid opportunity, my deepest gratitude to you all who donated, encouraged, and supported me throughout this Governor’s Residence decorating project. Your generosity helped bring my vision to life and I am grateful beyond words!

Allow me to reintroduce myself - I’m Alisha, the owner and lead planner of True Story Events, a Harrisburg-based event and wedding planning company dedicated to creating unforgettable, stress-free celebrations.

For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of planning and designing weddings, milestone celebrations, corporate and nonprofit events, and community experiences across Central Pennsylvania and beyond. From full-service planning and event design to day-of coordination and venue styling, I specialize in bringing each client’s vision to life with intention, creativity, and attention to detail.

I also offer full-service decorating, balloon artistry, and custom dessert stations through my “collaboration”with my baking business, That Cupcake Lady, and my luxury boutique venue, Emerald Suite, giving my clients a true one-stop event experience.

Fifty & Fabulous!

What an incredible evening celebrating a beautiful milestone! A room filled with 200 guests, laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, all in honor of a woman who truly deserved to be celebrated!!

Grateful for the opportunity to curate and orchestrate this stunning celebration from start to finish. It’s always a joy bringing visions like this to life! However, none of this would be possible without my amazing vendor team! The talented professionals who consistently show up, SHOW OUT, and help me execute each client’s vision with excellence. Your creativity, reliability, and passion make every event truly unforgettable, and I’m so thankful for the partnership we share!

On September 7th we had the honor of celebrating the union of Darryl & Jehava Smith, and it was nothing short of magical! From the love in their vows to the joy on the dance floor, every moment was filled with beauty, laughter, and genuine love.

I was especially proud to see how breathtaking looked for their wedding reception and that I was able to execute every detail they envisioned from the décor to the atmosphere. Everything came together so beautifully to create a space worthy of their love story. It’s always my greatest joy to transform our venue into a place where unforgettable memories are made.
