Are thoughts and prayers are with all Sioux Falls and surrounding area law enforcement? God bless 🤗🤗🤗

End of Watch.

Today, our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of a Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Deputy who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

For generations, the greater Sioux Falls area had been fortunate to be spared a line-of-duty tragedy of this magnitude.

It has been decades since our local law enforcement community has experienced such a devastating loss. That history is a sobering reminder of how deeply this tragedy will be felt, not only by the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, but by every officer, deputy, family, and community member who calls this area home.

But no amount of time could ever prepare us for this moment.

Behind the badge was a woman who dedicated herself to serving others. She was more than her uniform, more than her title, and more than the circumstances of her death. She was a person who was loved, whose life mattered, and whose absence will be felt for generations.

To her family, friends, and our brothers and sisters at the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our deepest condolences and unwavering support. Your grief is shared by an entire law enforcement community, and you will not carry it alone.

As we honor her life and sacrifice, we also stand united in our call for justice. We urge the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office and all prosecuting authorities involved to pursue every criminal charge warranted by the evidence, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Accountability must be unwavering, and justice must be pursued with the same determination and commitment that this deputy demonstrated in her service to our community.

The impact of this tragedy will extend far beyond today. It will be felt in the halls of the Sheriff’s Office, in patrol cars across our community, and most profoundly, in the lives of those who loved her.

Rest easy, sister. We’ll take it from here. 💙🖤
