What values make up the design process at Free Spirit Floral? I’ll tell you ⬇️🌺🧠

1. We value nature. The beauty of the natural world is my creative medium and source of inspiration! I’m very intentional with my product selection and focus more on textures and shapes rather than flower type.

2. We value colors. You can have the most beautiful novelty flowers but color is what stands out most in floral design. I like to experiment with different color harmonies but am usually drawn to analogous and complementary combinations.

3. We value sustainability. I want to celebrate nature, not waste it! But like most industries, floral design originated with no focus on the planet. So I’m constantly coming up with new ideas and new ways to create designs without the harmful supplies that have been a staple in floral design for decades (think floral foam, cellophane wrapping, etc). I refrain from using most single use mechanics and packaging, do my best to use seasonal blooms and often use vases made from recycled materials.

4. We value creative liberty and having fun. Florists take their work very seriously; we feel intense pressure to impress, to be unique yet also keep up with trends and follow requests, to have every design be our absolute best work. But we are also creatives with our own style, and I’m grateful for people who trust and believe in the wild, artful and nature-inspired style I’ve created at Free Spirit Floral 🌺🌾
