Hi, I’m Christine! I live in Greensboro, NC with my husband and our 9-year old twins. By day, I’m a Board Certified Social Security disability attorney and a managing attorney at the Deuterman Law Group.

I’ve taken my 14 years of experience explaining complicated legal concepts to clients and other attorneys and merged it with my passion for American mahjong, teaching beginner mahjong and strategy classes. I started Sparrow and Dragon so that I could have a place to nerd out about the rules of mahjong and share my love for this incredible game (way of life?!)

I love reading fantasy anything, mahjong afternoons at a brewery (hey Oden Brewing Company!), taking trips with very little planning on my part, and I’m always down for karaoke night.

If you already love mahjong, are mahjong-curious, or know a little but want to dive into strategy and improve your game, I’ll be your mahjong bestie. Follow along to learn about my local events and classes and discover your new favorite tiles and tablescapes!
