There are some moments in life that defy gravity.
Moments too precious for words.
Ruby Lavelle Ritter.
6.23.2026
My last newborn grandchild has arrived.
A beautiful baby girl, named after me.
What an incredible honor and a gift I’ll treasure forever.
And a beautiful tribute to the masterful Barney Vickery.
Wait a minute!!!!
This makes no sense.
Indeed.
Somewhere along the line, my husband renamed me!
He didn’t think Deanna suited me, and on a long drive to Kentucky, the song, ‘Ruby don’t take your love to town ‘ came on the radio, and I suddenly was renamed Ruby Mae Puckett, from Stinking Creek, Kentucky.
What started out as a joke, stuck, and split- personalitys became my life story.
I was half Deanna.
Half Ruby.
Our children have honored his memory by naming their children, family names passed down through the legacy of our lives:
Ingrid Auest Beech… Auest for Barney’s maternal grandparent’s surname.
Ingrid for his Norwegian heritage.
Dean… named after my grandfather , the patriarch of the farm, Rolan Dean Feller, and my dad, Dean Feller, and also me, Deanna Feller Vickery.
Hans… named for Barney’s beloved grandfather, Hans Michael Auest.
Max… name was originally chosen if our Taylor had been a boy.
And finally Ruby Lavelle Ritter.💕
My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude as I watch our family grow.
Welcome to the world sweet girl.
You are already so deeply loved, and I can’t wait to watch your story unfold.
A legacy of love, wrapped in a tiny little bundle.
