So we did a thing. Last Thursday we started our scrappy totes and it was an awesome class. This class was all about and learning how to give old scraps a new life. I’m loving the creativity that all the students are showing in class. We are reducing textile waste and more! See you tomorrow for our grow bag class. Have y’all ever heard of a grow bag? 🌱🪴

It’s basically a soft fabric planter that helps plants grow really well because the fabric allows better airflow and drainage for the roots. Plus… they’re cute 😂

Join us for a fun beginner-friendly sewing class where we’ll make our own reusable grow bags perfect for herbs, flowers, or small plants. We’ll even plant our own seeds inside the bags before you leave 🌿✨

No sewing experience needed and all materials are provided!

So… what y’all doing tomorrow night? 👀🧵🎬

Because honestly, we’re about to have a real chill creative kickback at the South Dallas Cultural Center and you should come hang out 😭😂 Bring your sewing project, crochet, sketchbook, embroidery, or whatever creative thing you’ve been meaning to work on while we watch Major Payne together.

No pressure. No fancy setup. Just good vibes, laughs, creativity, and community.

We’ll have limited headphones available, table spots for people sewing, machine rentals if needed, and popcorn for sale 🍿

You can also just grab a seat-only ticket and come vibe with us.

I hope yall are ready for summer because it is about to be so packed with classes. Here is one of my Juneteenth series coming up! These classes are sponsored by the and they are FREE to you. Registration for each will open a week ahead of class so set your calendars now! Don’t say I didn’t tell you!!

All materials and machines provided but please feel free to bring your own if you’d like to select your own fabrics. For any classes using a machine you are welcome to bring your own also but I will have one for you.

Rec cards are free for Dallas residents ages 17 and under and 60 and over. All other participants, including both Dallas and non-Dallas residents ages 18–59, are required to purchase a rec card. Membership costs range from $5–$25 depending on residency and age. We also offer a $5 day pass option for those who are looking to access the facility one time instead of long term. This can be paid day of to the rec.
