He told me he wasn’t taking pictures 🤨
But, this is the reality of my life the past few days, so thought I should share. Flower farming definitely isn’t just all about the pretty flowers that grew all summer. There have been so many unpretty parts of it all too!! And those are the parts that most didn’t get to see.

The final push before winter sets in…Long days/nights, muddy hands, and chilled fingers—this is the behind-the-scenes reality of our life these past days.

We’re digging, washing, and dividing the last of our dahlia tubers before the freezing temps settle in for good. We are grateful for every last warm day we get in order to get a little more done each day.

And even though it looks like we had a little extra help tonight, she was really digging a hole, burying a glove, digging it out and repeat!!

Need a little reminder while we are working on dividing and storing dahlias…they still are my favorite flower, despite all the work they require!

It started with bags of tubers and turned into crates upon crates of them!! 😵‍💫

The next days will be spent washing, dividing, and properly storing. We will definitely have tubers to sell either this fall or winter!
