In May 2024, I walked into what was supposed to be a routine but high-risk hysterectomy and never expected my heart would stop. A rare CO2 embolism caused a cardiac arrest and waking up in the cardiac ICU surrounded by doctors, fighting for my life and facing a recovery that would test me in ways I never imagined.
I battled PTSD, fear, and the overwhelming reality of nearly leaving my children behind.
But motherhood gave me a reason to keep going.
While healing, I found therapy in creativity. Balloons became my outlet. My way of putting the pieces of myself back together. What began as a way to cope became Abigail’s Blooms and Balloons LLC — a business built from resilience, second chances, and spreading joy to others during life’s biggest celebrations.
Today, I’m asking for support from corporations, local businesses, community organizations, and anyone who believes in lifting others up.
