Over the past few weeks, I’ve heard from several South Street restaurant owners about the challenges construction has brought to their businesses. I wanted to find a way to bring the street and the community together to show our support for those who invested early in this area.

That’s how How to Get to South Street came to be! I reached out to Nancy Turner and the Glens Falls Collaborative, and they were on board right away. Kate Austin from Advokate jumped in to help create the flyer, and now we just need you!

The goal of this event is to bring attention to South Street restaurants that have been impacted by the ongoing development projects—projects that we all hope will strengthen our community in the long run. These businesses invested early in this neighborhood’s future, and while construction presents challenges, they continue to serve as vibrant parts of our community. While the work will be completed in the next year, they need our support now. This event is a way for all of us to rally around them and show that we appreciate and value what they bring to Glens Falls.

Let’s show these restaurants how Hometown USA supports each other. Come out on Thursday, March 20—grab a meal, a drink, or a snack, and support one (or more!) of these great local businesses.
