YO!! YO!! Important announcement tiempo!!! As you all hopefully know we had to move our Southern Star 5K over to B52. Okay, so that part should be pretty simple. Now, some of you know B52 and 11 Below are owned by same group. Some of you might even know that 11 Below is moving in with B52 (AS FRIENDS, SHEESH...gossip much??) at their brewery on Milroy in Conroe. And some of you even suggested we call this August B52- 2.0 5K the 11 Below 5K. Well, we thought that was such a sweet idea and no brainer, we reached out to B52/11 Below and they are FOR IT! So now we gonna be running the 11 Below 5K at B52/11 Below on Aug 8! So that worked out pretty well. Thanks for the ideas y'all. Please be aware that it will take us some time to get artwork and update/ convert websites and registration page and FB event pages to 11 Below. The RIT Cabana Boy was in The Frost Bank Center last night rooting on Canadien rock bands, Triumph and April Wine who were on his record player as a wee lad. He took a moment at intermission to get everyone present to yell "GO SPURS!!!" for a great pic but nobody waited until he counted to three.... ALAS!!

YO YO!!!!! We have an important announcement to make! Sadly, we have very recently been informed by the Southern Star Brewing GM, that Sothern Star Brewing is closing their doors permanently at the end of June. This means we need to find a substitute brewery to take its place on Aug 8. Welp, just like that, B52 in Conroe has offered to host yet another RIT 5K on Aug 8. This gives us convenience of the event being in a nearby location AND the convenience of having worked with and being familiar with B52 and knowing they have a great venue, great beer and great food. It’ll be B52 5K.2. So, if you are a Six Packer and SS5K is one of your choices and you are good with replacing SS5K with B525K, you need to do nothing, you are all set. Also if you are signed up for only Southern Star 5K (not a 6-Packer) and are good with the switch, you do not need to do anything you will be switched to B525K by default. We also want to thank the Southern Star crew for their hospitality and many great years of supporting 5K’s that support Conroe Toys for Tots. We want to wish them all best of luck moving forward and please holler if you end up at a venue looking to host a 5K or would be a good fit.
If the replacement of SS5K w B525K does not work for you here are your options:
• Get a full refund and don’t run on Aug 8 (email karen@runintexas)
• Get credit for another event on our calendar (email karen@runintexas)
• If you are a 6-Packer you may switch to another event or get a refund for SS5K. (email karen@runintexas)
Let us know ONLY if you do not wish to sub SS5K with B525K on Aug 8 and let us know how to proceed. Please email [email protected] if you wish to make changes or have any questions.
