The historic and beautiful Gahanna Sanctuary has lots of new reasons to visit the community's largest, most well-known, tallest and now brightest historical landmark.
Today members of the Gahanna Sanctuary Garden Club planted flowers and herbs on Butterfly Island, the newest and cutest addition to the Capital of Olde Downtown Gahanna, designed to cater to and accommodate butterflies with a special eye to Monarchs. According to Master Gardener Mary Rezak, Butterfly Island is primed to meet criteria to certify it as a Monarch Butterfly Waystation. I get butterflies just thinking about what a few purpose driven GSGCers can do when the spirit moves them. Kudos to Victoria Brodner and Joy Johns for their planting work today, a day before the first day of Gahanna's postponed Blues and Jazz Festival this weekend.
Reminder, the first ever Nonprofit Fair will take place inside Sanctuary Hall, sponsored by the Gahanna Foundation.
Butterfly Island will stay, but the Mobile Vaccine Unit owned by the Ohio Department of Health and staffed by Walgreens will only be in the Sanctuary's private parking lot until Sunday.
Able to dispense up to 30 vaccines per hour inside the MVU, the public is invited to visit the Sanctuary during the following times:
Friday...5 to PM
Saturday...3 to 7PM
Sunday...12 to 4PM
The Sanctuary invites anyone who has not received a vaccine shot yet to take advantage of this free service. In addition to FDA approved Phizer vaccine, Walgreens professionals will also administrator seasonal flu shots.
