The Secret Garden has been coming alive again with all the recent rain!

I'm deep into crafty projects for our sequel wedding next month. Distressing wood is my new favorite craft. I love doing the crackle finish.

It's getting very hot again here in central NC and yesterday we noticed bees looking for water.

You can easily provide a watering hole for bees with things you already have:

-a shallow pan, container, dish, bowl, etc.
-rocks, sticks, flat marbles for the bees to land on
-a place in the shade
-some "dirty" water the bees can detect by smell (like rainwater, pond water, or saltwater)

I'll post a pic of the Pollinator Ponds we sold at our spring markets to inspire your creativity for making a safe place for bees and butterflies to drink water.

Wedding flower pics are finally here!!

Last month I was married to my amazingly wonderful husband in a micro wedding in the greenhouse at Pleasant Coates Farm in Benson, NC.

The greenhouse is surrounded by trees and it is truly a magical setting.

This was our legal ceremony and we intended it to be simple, but my imagination started running wild at the thought of getting married in a greenhouse!

I narrowed all the ideas down to:
🌼 a floral meadow installation to add color to
🪴 a ceremony nest (aka grounded floral arch) at the front of the greenhouse
🌹 a floral chandelier hanging above the ceremony nest
and beautiful fabric draped over the greenhouse beams.

💜 I love love love how everything turned out! 💜

P.S. Almost all the flowers and plants were sourced locally from Firefly Farm in Hillsborough (check out their u-pick flower fields), Tarheel Nursery in Angier (they have amazing greenhouse plants among many other things), and my own lovely Secret Garden.

Most of the flowers in my bouquet came from the Secret-Garden.Flower-Stand. The purples and pinks paired well with cascading asparagus ferns from Tarheel Nursery and eucalyptus and white gerbera daisies from Trader Joe's.

It was relieving to have thunderstorms and rain on Sunday! All the flowers in The Secret Garden are quite appreciative of the rain.
