I went into my 2017 season with the intent to pare down my wedding intake - only planning to take one wedding a month. But when Alison contacted me about her October wedding (which would make it my second booking for the month), I conceded. No way was I going to miss a Winkler wedding!
One of the greatest blessings of this job has been the consistency with which I get to work with clients' families and friends. I love being able to keep up with and capture circles of people - it truly is an honor. So, thank you for your patience, Alison & Colin. I hope you find it's worth the wait!
My husband and I so enjoyed capturing Alison and Colin's wedding. I got to start at the salon and Peter filmed the guys. Alison wrote a note not only to the groom, but to every groomsman, usher, and Colin's parents as well. I think that will always be a favorite memory of mine from this wedding.
Peter and I filmed the whirlwind of events at Alison's parents' house - that dress was so gorgeous! Loved being a part of the first look with Alison's dad, grandparents, and bridesmaids. : ) Another favorite moment of ours was Colin seeing Alison coming down the aisle. Nobody in the chapel would ever doubt how long awaited that moment was.
After a beautiful ceremony, the party commenced at Cog Hill Country Club, though it might as well have been a royal reception at a beautiful palace somewhere. Everything was rich, warm, and elegant in decor. We captured exquisite moments out on the grounds during golden hour with Jennifer Shaffer Photography (we love working with her!), and inside the banquet hall where everyone danced the night away.
We think this was one heck of a way to celebrate an 11th dating anniversary, and hope that Alison and Colin celebrate dozens and dozens more anniversaries to come!
